The turtle beetle has the ability to change color. The advantages of changing the color of the appearance make this beetle strange to the predator, so the predator is not interested or hesitant to approach it. Like other insect wings, transparent turtle beetle wings. However, the unique wings sparkle when exposed to light. This is caused by the refraction of light that occurs when light passes through the gap on the inside of the wing. However, the sparkle of this wing will disappear when the turtle beetle dies.
Stategies Survive
The body of a turtle beetle larva has a shape like a rice bowl. The outskirts of her body are surrounded by a pointed bulge. The beetle larva likes to live in the skin of a dead cocoon. In the skin of this former cocoon the beetle larvae survive.
The beetle larva puts its odorous debris on top of a dead cocoon to hide the smell of the larvae. These larvae have toxic substances from the leaves they eat. The poison helps them to expel the predator. At a glance the shape looks like bird droppings.
