Jealousy is inherently destructive. It is based on self-doubt, distrust of another person and a desire for revenge. Jealousy is closely intertwined with resentment and anger and pushes a person to commit acts that lead to negative consequences.

Is jealousy a sign of love?

It is believed that jealousy is one of the signs of love: "jealous means loves." But is it? Of course, we will only be jealous of people or even things that matter to us. But if a person is not jealous, it does not mean that he does not love. Therefore, the sources of jealousy is not a bright feeling of love, but some other reasons.

Jealousy, like fear of betrayal.

Jealousy is extremely closely related to the concept of treason. In the simplest version, jealousy is the fear of what a loved one can change, or a feeling that already appears as a result of treason. Showing his jealousy, it would seem, for no reason at all, a person seeks to prevent treason and protect themselves. Unfortunately, this behavior often leads to the opposite result.

Jealousy as projection of one's own complexes on other people.

Often behind jealousy is their own sense of insecurity and inferiority. It manifests itself in fear of failure and, as a consequence, in jealousy. A relationship with another person is a way to maintain your own self-esteem, so it is so meaningful.

Jealousy as a sense of ownership.

Jealousy can be a consequence of the desire to keep everything under control and fully possess a person. Of course the origins of these impulses are internal systems and doubt in itself.

Jealousy as a result of unjustified expectations.

If our expectations placed on another person are not met, then, as a consequence, a feeling of jealousy may arise. As a rule, such expectations are connected with trust to another.

Jealousy as a desire to control the destiny of another person.

We are trying to create stability by gaining power over another person. By controlling his actions, we have the ability to prevent changes in relationships, thereby maintaining stability. But in fact it is nothing more than an illusion, because total control over another person is simply impossible. The result is a feeling of jealousy and distrust.

As you can see, at the core of jealousy are some deep unexamined sense of the man himself. The presence of" rivals " or any attempt to deliberately cause jealousy is something that lies on the surface, but the true causes are within the person. To get rid of jealousy, you need to understand what lies at the heart of this feeling.
