MacOS 12.6 wurde Veröffentlicht mit den folgenden “Neuerungen”.
Die Empfehlung, die neue Software für den Mac möglichst bald zu installieren, gewinnt besonders durch die Tatsache Gewicht, dass Apple hier wie mit iOS 15.7 eine Kernel-Schwachstelle stopft, die Berichten zufolge aktiv ausgenutzt wird. Insgesamt bringt die neue macOS-Version Korrekturen für acht verschiedene, in der Vorgängerversion noch vorhandene Sicherheitslücken.
Safari 16 zieht macOS-Ventura-Funktionen vor
Apple hat darüber hinaus auch Safari 16 freigegeben. Das Update für den Apple-Webbrowser zieht eine Reihe von Funktionen vor, die ursprünglich im Zusammenhang mit dem kommenden macOS 13 Ventura angekündigt wurden:
- In Startseiten für Tabgruppen können für jede Tabgruppe unterschiedliche Hintergrundbilder und Favoriten hinzufügt werden.
- Angepinnte Tabs in Tabgruppen ermöglichen es, für jede Tabgruppe häufig besuchte Websites anzupinnen.
- Durch das Anzeigen von Tabs in der Seitenleiste können offene Tabs als Listen dargestellt werden.
- Einstellungen für bestimmte Websites werden nun geräteübergreifend synchronisiert.
- Durch das Bearbeiten von starken Passwörtern können starke Passwörter angepasst werden, um Anforderungen bestimmter Websites zu erfüllen.
Mit diesen Neuerungen verbunden hat Apple auch in Safari eine Reiche von Schwachstellen behoben: Informationen zum Sicherheitsinhalt von Safari 16.

The recommendation to install the new software for the Mac as soon as possible is particularly important due to the fact that Apple is plugging a kernel vulnerability here, as with iOS 15.7, which is reportedly being actively exploited. Overall, the new macOS version brings fixes for eight different security gaps that were still present in the previous version.
Safari 16 prefers macOS Ventura features
Apple has also released Safari 16. The Apple web browser update brings forward a number of features originally announced in connection with the upcoming macOS 13 Ventura:
- In tab group home pages, different background images and favorites can be added for each tab group.
- Pinned tabs in tab groups allow to pin frequently visited websites for each tab group.
- By displaying tabs in the sidebar, open tabs can be represented as lists.
- Settings for specific websites are now synced across devices.
- Strong password editing allows strong passwords to be customized to meet specific website requirements.
Linked to these innovations, Apple has also fixed a number of vulnerabilities in Safari: Information on the security content of Safari 16.
