Albinism, or how to convey white color in the work
The fourth task of the marathon nestandart_art
Each of you, probably, saw photos of people-albinos on the Internet, and some of you, probably, met these unusual outwardly and in their own way beautiful people in life.
When the organizers gave such a task, the thought flashed through my head: “damn, what a saving of paint!” 😸 And here and there.
I still remember the situation from my childhood when the teacher in the art studio said: “What are you sitting for? Take the brush and paint the snow! " In the sense of drawing snow? I have not had such a stupor yet.
And the thing, actually, is this.
Absolutely white in watercolor does not exist (as well as in other techniques), just as there is no pure white in the objects around us. White color has hundreds of shades that an artist should be able to see and transmit in his work. White objects also have shadow and light, they can reflect the colors of nearby objects or have their own characteristics depending on the texture, the material and the essence of the things themselves.
Therefore, do not hesitate to take the paint and create your white color! Your works should be picturesque from beginning to end, even if you decided to depict absolutely white snow on the whole leaf 😹
And now a little about the materials: the base is made with a graphite pencil, then layers of watercolor and detail elaboration with a leaf, liner and white watercolor pencil ✨

Каждый из вас, наверное, видел фотографии людей-альбиносов в интернете, а некоторые из вас, возможно, встречали этих необычных внешне и по своему красивых людей в жизни.
Когда организаторы дали такое задание, у меня в голове промелькнула мысль: «блин, какая экономия краски!» 😸 А вот и нет.
До сих помню ситуацию из детства, когда преподаватель в изостудии сказала: «Чего сидишь? Бери кисть и рисуй снег!». В смысле нарисовать снег? Такого ступора у меня ещё не было.
А дело, собственно, вот в чем.
Абсолютно белого цвета в акварели не существует (впрочем, и в других техниках), как и не существует чисто белого в окружающих нас предметах. Белый цвет имеет сотни оттенков, которые художник должен уметь видеть и передавать в своей работе. У белых предметов тоже есть тень и свет, они могут отражать цвета находящихся рядом предметов или же иметь свои характерные особенности в зависимости от текстуры, материла и сущности самих вещей.
Поэтому не стесняемся брать краску и творить свой белый цвет! Ваши работы должны быть живописны от начала до конца, даже если на весь лист вы решили изобразить абсолютно белый снег 😹
А теперь немного о материалах: основа выполнена графитовым карандашом, далее слои акварели и проработка деталей поталью, линером и белым акварельным карандашом ✨

This is informative and beautiful. I'm still shying away from color, but even the graphite rendering is very true to life. I have been working mainly in charcoal.
