Hi Everybody !
(All the images are my own creation and so I own the rights of them)

My client had two tasks for me:
Exploring the ideas through concepts. Where we would find the proper style and so the 3D artists would have a reference and the client would have an idea of what the studio of my client had in mind.
Develop few ideas in super rendered quality. So it would look that they already did the models in 3D and have everything set up. Of course they didn't do that. They didn't have the time for modeling and not even the employees. So they decided that making a bet with this 2D artist to emulate the modeled looking would be possible...
The path until we find the style was tragically funny, because we did MANY different styles and ideas and in the end we end up with something completely different from what was in my client's mind and what we arrange since the beginning.
We made so many different concepts and none of them were accepted. ALL the concepts were rejected.
But it didn't discourage me. There comes a time in your professional career as concept designer where you just understand that you have to put a distance between yourself and your work.
Because client is searching for that idea and style as well. This is why he is hiring a concept designer. And this is the reason that most of times you will probably end up trashing all your works to the trash bin.
Doesn't matter, because this time I got payed for all of them (nope, still waiting that payment guys). So the more I should do, the better, despite if they ended up as the presentation on a toilet paper's paper (now that's an interesting idea).

I can and I will can't blame him. Too many tasks sometimes take your time and completely break the priorities. So the feedback from his client came and it wasn't positive.
In the end I received this line-art that was brought by my client (and done by another artist), along with a description and a request of changing few features such as the feet, the size of the arms and few proportions that weren't just right.
So I modified it to look slightly better and applied these adjustments that were missing in relation with the style of the whole previous products of this project.
The rest of it was the same process of painting I used for the previous ones.
From the line-art to the grayscale with shadows and light, from there to texture, then add few details (not too many) and color. Once there you just start rendering the hell out of it.
Once I finished the illustration they asked me for another and once I finished that one they asked me for color variations (that even if they were very easy to get due to adjustment layers, they had a little hard part for finding the right mix of colors between the horrible propositions that they gave me. Please take a look:

I am an amateur when it comes to drawing. But still some odd jobs fall my way. Like t-shirt designs and occasional wall painting or a simple invitation for a wedding or event. I always ask for specifics and i know right away shit will hit the fan if the client says: do whatever you want. To cut this short...i feel your frustration and know this sort of pain. But honestly ...in this case...the end result is stuning. So maybe all the frustration was worth it. :)
Oh, thanks a lot @atopy! And indeed, freedom is synonym of chains for artists... we get lost so easily when we have it. We need to be under control because imagination does its work and drives us to places we don t really wanna go.
Discipline is needed here haha
You are doing such amazing work. I envision the day where I can afford your services. :)
Oh thank you so much @flauwy! I hope one day we can work together :D
Yes, I hope so as well.
I still can't get over how much back and forth there was! People always have specific ways that they want drawings and you never know if they'll accept the first one or make you do five more. You just have to remember to give it your all on every masterpiece because you never know who's watching. You could get one of your biggest clients from a referral or marketing. I'm still amazed by your dedication and can't wait to see more drawings in the future :)
Thanks @cryptodata ! I am actually really grateful with you because you are following my posts from close and for real, not just saying it... And indeed! we always have to give the 120% in whatever we do, despite of our profession or activity we have.
Our projects, creations and actions must talk for us and guide our reputation in the present and future =)
@anritcoOur job at times can be very stressful and frustrating but it's what we love doing.Despite the fact that i'm still a student i know how some lecturers can be so frustrating.
Indeed ! I believe that the act of creating is rewarding on itself, despite of how much we gotta struggle to survive in this capitalistic world ;)
Thanks for the insight ! I am going through very similar stuff myself ! Lovely work & rendering by the way ! peace !
Thanks a lot @vibvir !
