Well, I took a couple month hiatus from Steemit and boy did I miss it! But no need to fret...I’m back now! (With my typical, cant sleep 2am post of course.)

I have been up to so many exciting things that I will be sharing with you all throughout the next few weeks but wanted to start with this one...Probably because I finished her tonight so it’s top of mind!

First off, I have always been super intimidated with it comes to painting people. So much so that I just plain don’t do it! Obviously living in your comfort zone is no way to live so I decided to bite the bullet and start practicing portraits!

I get asked all the time to do portraits and always turn them down so my goal is to put an end to this crutch in my career as an artist! This painting isn’t of anyone in particular, but I’m actually kind of stoked on how she came out. I particularly had a blast painting her hair and wanted to show the step by step process of painting strands of hair...exciting, I know. ;)
