Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz Diez, both abstract artists, were direct influence in the Andes region of Venezuela, for having lived there for a while. Although, like any other town, naive art is noted: pieces of wood, paintings, conventional art in general.
The great thing about his arrival (more than 60 years ago) to these enchanted lands was undoubtedly the legacy of the new artists. Contemporary art at its best.
Bailadores, one of these magical towns, with an incomparable landscape, next to Tovar (Both belonging to Mérida), show that in Venezuela there are invaluable artists and that there is much to exploit.
I had the opportunity to visit the house of Ivan Vivas, one of the greatest art collectors in Venezuela. Enjoy a little of this with me, because not everyone is capable of having as much love to art as this man :)
