Fun to watch: brilliant breakdown of special effects

in #art6 years ago

Dr. Strange is undoubtedly one of the movies with the most amount of special effects & I must admit, I was impressed. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the storyline but all the crazy effects blew me away.

The movie is based on the 1960s Marvel comic and tells the story of Dr. Steven Strange who learns the art of black magic and tries to save the world from a demonic ruler.

This made me want to dive into the creators of these effects when I came  across some great stuff. Which I would like to share with you.

Let's have a look into the work done by Spov Design!

As Spov say about their role in this movie:"We were tasked with designing and animating the screen graphics for a number of scenes depicting medical procedures and experimental techniques throughout the film."

I think that the fact that they were allowed to experiment in this project resulted in these great graphics & effects.

The coolness continues

Luma Pictures worked on more than 200 shots in this movie making their offices in L.A. and Melbourne key to the success of this movie. In below demo they break down part of their work. Very cool to watch.

Respect for the professionals

I find it very cool that technology allows amateur video and special effects fans to create cool stuff. But that said, I think that the superheroes at Luma & Spov are not going to be rivalled by us any time soon.
