COFFEE & ART
This afternoon I took a trip to Ladbroke Grove and had a little informal interview with Sarah Louise owner @ultravioletmag about the new creative path she has chosen to go in along side her magazine and photography...
Q) What was it that inspired you to pick up a paint brush?
A) I was going though quite a stressful period in my life and felt I needed a hobby and an emotional release away from my everyday job. I love photography the freedom and creativity that comes with it but I was lacking something... As I loved art art at school I decided to go and buy some art supplies and just spent my free time painting... It was an amazing journey and found myself painting through the night some times ...
Q) How did it go from Hobby to Selling Art?
A) Well... I had painted so many paintings that I felt I wanted to share them with the word ... Started an Instagram account @SARAHLOUISEJOHNSONART , people started commenting asking to buy some paintings...

Q) Where do you get your inspiration from ?
A) I channel the inspiration from my art from my higher self or source... It is full of spiritual concepts and the visual representation n of my awakening journey. I can only paint and access that when I'm in a meditative space so for me getting my energy right to create is the most important thing...
Q) What is your vision as an artist for the future?
A) I can see so much I want to share and being able to keep improving my technique to better formulate what I see into a visual to be understood by others. To hone my craft.
Q) Would you be open to do commissions ?
A) yes as long as they were loose with what they wanted. Ie a realistic portrait of someone's child wouldn't be something I would feel comfortable offering but if someone gave me the freedom to change a subject with my own interpretation for sure

This last painting of Sarah's has such a special meaning I felt it totally resonated with me it's called 'this could be the one'. This painting represents a girl who is carrying her heart around in her hand, hoping to find someone who will love her and take her heart and keep it safe, rather than realising her soulmate is already within her.... the person that is going to love her unconditionally and keep her heart safe is Her ....

Cool interview! :) Noone ever asks me if they can buy my work! :( Often happen that people steal my work and try to sell it off as their own though! :/
