Hi Steemit family!

We continue with our hyperrealist week, today I will continue talking about the life and work of another Spanish painter who chose this genre full of extreme realism to make history, in this case, it is Pedro Campos, accompany me to know a little about the life of this man of art.

source

This painter has based his works on objects of daily life such as aluminum cans, fruits, glass containers, and the detail is surprising in terms of texture and use of light is concerned. Needless to say, his art is confused with real photographs.

source

Born in Madrid - Spain in the years of 1966, since he was a child he was linked to art because his family has many artists, as an artist is known since 1998 before that his work was limited to the restoration of paintings, study in the official school of conservation and restoration of works of art in Madrid, began his career with the genre hyperrealist and in a short time his art managed to cross Spanish borders to be exhibited in many European countries and in the United States.

source

His work as a restorer allowed him to learn in practice different pictorial genres, in addition to the fact that the craft requires infinite patience due to the manipulation of historical works, so he polished himself in varied techniques that allowed him to enter through the big door with hyperrealism, having special preparation in care of very subtle details very necessary to make works of hyperrealism.

source

The work allowed him to know exactly what type of painting is needed exactly in restoration, this information is commonly used to compose his hyperrealistic works.

source

His works are also dedicated in a way to pop art as a kind of cult or homage, due to the recurrent use of industrialized products in the composition, something that is very common to see in pop art pieces.

Unlike other artists of the same genre Pedro Campos uses as a reference to paint many photographs, here lies a small point against the painter as the works whose reference photographs are considered as a copy of an original photograph. However, this does not detract from the painter's excellent technical work.

source

Furthermore, patience and dedication seem respectable to me in any genre no matter if it is hyperrealism or realism or abstract art to name a few genres, each one has its degree of difficulty which gives a value to the work.

source

Today Pedro Campos continues to be inspired by photographs of everyday objects, some of his works show cans of Campbell soup widely used by one of the great pop artists, Andy Warhol for whom the painter feels deep admiration.

source

Although the birth of pop art and hyperrealism are not cataloged within the same genre, perhaps hyperrealism is the most subtle and detailed part of representing common objects of our daily lives. I think that the main obstacle for hyperrealist art has been the specialized critical approach to art in only the technical details of the realization of work and not its aesthetic character, this is where the bad fame that this genre can have lies.

source

However, this has not been an impediment for curators, critics and other people linked to art to value the genre allowing it to remain in force, and beyond its aesthetics or technique remain as part of art history.
