Hi, guys!
Today I nevertheless fulfilled my old dream and came to a master class in a pottery workshop. I must say right away that my expectations from the event were much lower. When I first went to a place like this, it was very dark, and it was very far from my house, it was really not normal to get there. They rented space in garages, and the atmosphere was appropriate.
Everything was different today. Firstly, this studio is within walking distance of my house. Yes, it takes an hour to walk, but in my coordinate system it's not far. Another question is that it was cold and windy outside, and I did not want to walk in such weather.
It only took ten minutes to drive. Five more to find the entrance to the studio, and I'm there. A large spacious and very bright room, and a surprise - on the territory of the studio there is a cafe with delicious cakes.
There were only two of us, me and a teacher who was also only there to direct my work in the right direction. Paradise for an introvert. Eventually, I put on my headphones and focused only on what I was doing.
I decided to make a heart. In the list of master classes of the studio, it is proposed to use it as a vase, but I decided that it would be a candlestick. Therefore, in the end it turned out to be very, very full of holes, but still I'm not sure that there will be normal air circulation and the candle will not go out.
Now you need to wait a week until the form hardens and dries out so that you can start glazing, and then firing. I'm looking forward to this moment.

I hope you don't have trypophobia :) Now when I put a tea candle inside, this heart, more like a coral, will glow from the inside.
I haven't decided yet what color I'm going to glaze. But I have a crazy idea to make it rainbow. In the end, I already messed up a lot at the sculpting stage, why not mess around at the stage of adding color.
Most likely, immediately after I finish this publication, I will sign up for the next lesson. There are so many more sculptures that I would like to mold :)
See you in the next post!
Love, Inber
Cool! It will be interesting to see your sculpture after the glaze and firing process!! I love ceramics but know little about it. I once took a beginner class but I dropped out because the teacher really didn't teach anything and just complained about how little sleep she had, etc., etc.
Now I live in the country, and wished I would have stayed in the class. Oh well!
