Have you ever tried your coffee in something as charming a boot shaped mug? If not, then I’d highly recommend it. If I had the cabinet space then I’d start my collection tomorrow! Not gonna lie, I’d love to buy an entire tiny kitchen set. If you’ve seen those viral YouTube videos of people making tiny cakes, tempura and so on- I want that to be my reality!
I’ve had cooking on my mind recently. Mainly brainstorming about sweet treats I can make @guthrie for us upcoming birthday party. I’d like to plan whatever I can in advance. Last year I made cake pops, they were cute but they quickly melted in the summer heat. He’s been into the idea of collecting rock crystals so this year I’m going to attempt to make Kohakutou. It’s a form of jelly rock candy. I’m open to any suggestions *cough @offbeatbroad for fun-easy treats that I could prepare for the party!
Before I started any crafts for the day I took the time to enjoy this new Nutella treat that I picked up on a lunch date. It’s my first time seeing and having one of these. I don’t often have Nutella but I thought it was pretty good.
Does anyone recognize this? It’s from my sketchy bouquet drawing that I did a week ago. I was thinking that it would look awesome transferred onto fabric so I’m giving it a go. It’s turning out awesome so far and I’m still trying to decide if I want the eyes to be blue, red, or purple.
After I’ve completed this project then I’m going to start embroidering a design on @wearingjoy’s shirt. I’m excited to do some sketches but I want to hold onto the thought of keeping it minimal/simplistic. I’ll be sharing progress shots of that as I go!
Drawings are evolving @vermillionfox, creation is endless process indeed. And you are following that path so good.

Thank you @jungwatercolor! 😊 I just posted an update to this project that I’m sure you’ll enjoy. I’m glad that I made the choice to focus my energy on this specific skill. Next month I’m meeting with a local designer who specializes in making wedding gowns. I’ve very excited and making notes of questions I’d like to ask her.

It sounds great, looks like all the dices are coming into it's place, your drawings are getting new shapes and majbe they will be applied in very interesting way. I like how the things are developing with your art @vermillionfox :) Hard work always pays out at some point.
Ok, first off, that boot mug is adorable. And it's giving me serious flashbacks... When I was a kid my grandparents had a cowboy boot shot glass that my sister and I would fight over all the time. We used it to drink Pepsi. 😂
Second: I love the idea of using your sketch as an embroidery design! That one in particular is going to look fantastic on fabric. Are you going to do more flowers, or keep it as just the one with the eye center? If you're doing others, with pinks and such, then I would go with a blue eye. But if you're keeping it simple, and as-is, I would opt for a violet eye. Complementary colors, and all that.
Aaaaand third: you know I'm over here brainstorming treat ideas. 😁 (Thanks for the shout out btw.) I love the idea of a geode cake though if you aren't used to frosting/sculpting cakes, it might not be the easiest. Also, there are some pretty amazing ideas out there for doing agate slice treats, which could easily be used as decoration on a cake, or as a little take-home favor!

I was pretty nervous when I started this project because I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. My confidence is growing and I’m in love with the look of it so far. I ended up going with a violet eye since I’ll be introducing lots of color all around. Having a sketch to work with as a guide is really helpful, without it I’d be lost!
Your the first person I thought about when it came to making sweets. I’m not skilled enough to make a geode cake but I saw in your second link- a geode cookie which I could definitely try!

My favorite flowers are Lilacs. I’m also starting to really like snap dragons.

the truth of the matter is that have tried it i dont know but in regular mugs the coffee thirst funky but when i used the boot mug for the first time the coffee remained hot more than usual and the thirst was enticing support me link

I collect vintage French teacups and German glazed mustache cups (the ones with porcelain mustache protecting lips lol). I think the only whimsical ones I have is my bailey face teacup collection, I love the little winkey faces!

I actually like this candy much better frozen. I’m not sure where you can find them since I picked this one up from an East European deli. Their stocks of sweets are always changing but if I see any more then I’ll be sure to save one to send to you!

I wasn’t sure what this snack would be like what I purchased it. It looked tasty and I actually thought it was going to be bread with a Nutella filling. Instead it’s got a wafer exterior, which is still pretty yummy! I like it better frozen.
What better to drink coffee with something sweet while continuing with your sewing activities, it must be delicious to try coffee in a cup shaped boot :D
It’s similar to the idea of ‘eating with your eyes’ when you’re first presented with a pretty dessert. For days when coffee/tea needs to be kept simple then a super fancy cup is almost necessary!
Shape mugs are the best thing!! l have few of the creature from the black lagoon! :)

My wife who works in all kinds of strange media, had a period six month ago where she made colour blindness tests with some strange French embroidery stitches - then she put them on badges with her badges machine.
