Tata Motors has introduced a new product under the brand new Racemo. Racemo is built with a 1.2-liter engine capacity with the help of a turbo system that produces 190ps and 210Nm of torque.
After Tata Nano as a cheap car in the world at prices below Rp50 million Tata Nano is now venturing into the sports car segment are also planned to be the cheapest coupe sports car in the world.
As reported by the official website of Tata Motors, Tamo, will serve as an incubation center for pengembanga technological innovations, business models, and new partnerships to define future mobility solutions they call, "FutuReady".
Simply put, every new technology that made Tata Motors engineers will try to use the limited product Tamo before being mass produced. Tata decided to bring some of these concepts to mass production.
Tata Motors called Tamo as a special variant that only made as many as 250 units only if successfully mass produced and moreover, this car will only be available 2 seats only - this car design has never been produced by Tata.
"Our focus is on accessing higher technology and reaching other opportunities in taking markets around the world, as well as starting a business to bring this project to new areas," said Dr. Tim Leverion - Chairman and Chief Engineer Product Development of Tata Motors
Tamo-based Advanced Modular Platform (AMP) is flexible to reduce overall weight to around 700kg. It will give this car the right power-weight ratio for a sports variant, while helping reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency.
Lightweight materials such as aluminum and plastic will dominate this car. Tata Motors is not planning on using carbon fiber because the cost of making it to be too expensive.
The machine used is likely Revotron 1.2 turbo petrol engine that can be tuned to generate power between 150 hp and 180 hp.
Production version of this car is expected to appear at the Delhi Auto Expo in mid 2018 at a price no more than 2,500,000 rupees or equivalent (Rp495, 75 million).
