A Simulation? A Mindset? Does positivity work? Have I been Hiving the wrong way all along?

in #bbhyesterday

Good evening buzzers! So, yesterday I posted seeking feedback on Hive's USP. Check it out here.

I've no idea how it managed to be a 10-minute read; it was supposed to be a quick sloth buzz!

Some of the comments really got me thinking, though. Have I been Hiving the wrong way all this time? When I joined Hive (proper), I jumped in with two feet, creating a community, token, building an outpost and even starting a Witness Node. Did I buzz in too quickly? Should I have slothed around some more to learn what was going on under the surface?

Perhaps I should have just been a 'member' of Hive first. Slothing along, creating my own content and focusing on personal growth. I always envisioned creating a buzzing community where everyone could come, share, grow, and enjoy. What I found, although I did receive some support, was that most were already stuck in their way. They had the projects they supported or their own community to run. They don't have time to get involved with every 'new start' on Hive. And rightly so! I mean, from my perspective, it sucked. I thought, why am I bothering if no one else cares. And, from their perspective, they probably thought, well, I'm already doing that, why should I support someone else to do the same! Catch 22!

Recently, I've been trying to 'wake up' to the world. Change my mindset, think more positively. And...Is life even real? Are we living in a simulation? Can we really control our destiny just with belief?

I've seen many videos/shorts/TikToks, whatever you want to call them, about the power of positive belief. Every famous quote or motto has some degree of positivity, a spark of encouragement. It's easy to look at all the bad in any situation, but what if we were more accepting, more thankful, more gracious in our everyday lives? Could the truth really lie in Vision boards?

Can we really 'make' the world we want to live in? Can we control our destiny just by striving towards our goals, even if we're taking tiny, sloth steps? Can we truly find the lives we want?

So, I've been on Hive for 7 years (give or take), according to Hivebuzz

Has it really taken me this long to find the 'true' meaning of Hive?

I mean, over that time I've told countless people Hive is what you make it, your interactions and engagements frame your Hive experience, but I guess, listening to your own advice is the hardest thing to do! I mean, I like to think I'm interacting, growing a 'fanbase', becoming 'one of us'. But really, I've always been too busy looking at the bigger picture. The whole of Hive, keeping up with as many communities as I can, following the dramas and the negativity! It's time to turn over a new leaf, try a new branch of this sloth tree!

7 is a lucky number, or my favourite number at least! So, let this be the year I really embrace Hive and make it the social experience it should be! Let's focus on running events, onboarding more users, or growing Hive worldwide. That can be someone else's focus. My focus will lie on building connections, securing bonds, and maybe, just maybe, getting over my introverted nature and becoming more of a social buttersloth in the real world! Time to spread my wings and evolve!

Attempting to use CommentRewarder, let's hope I do it right.

Be part of the discussion,
Do you think you can shape your world simply with belief?

Until next time,
Sloth out!

I love The Secret. Hive is great but there is a lack of users for all the communities there are. It is hard to participate properly in more than a couple of communities. So you see people gravitate to post be members of communities that deliver votes, because no matter what people might say, many users are still here for the money.
Things should be fun, and it is about finding your level here that is still fun. Do too much you can get burn out. Try to participate in too many things and you end up being stretched and get no results anywhere!
That was one reason I liked HiQ magazine as we got to know different areas of Hive. There is no way we can know everything that is going on.

Totally agree, I found myself in the 'trying to do everything and burning out camp'. Re-evaluating my priorities here, and in life to be honest. Need to get things back on track.

Im now trying to decide whether to continue with the slothbuzz accounts / community or just merge them all into this main account, would make a fair impact on my Hive power. Probably worth it as the slothbuzz stuff is under loved.

I feel for you with slothbuzz community. Personally I would put all onto your main account, that would be less stressful and give you more of a boost. But it would be a bummer to lose the community too.

Has it really taken me this long to find the 'true' meaning of Hive?<

Isn't that part of being a sloth a slow learner 😁

Just slow in general 🤣

I like to pretend I have some buzz about me too!
