Waking Up

in #beautifulsunday3 months ago

Waking up on the wrong side of the air mattress, actually looking over on the wife's side of the mattress its flat too, ahh and it is soo hot in the room, so we came up with the conclusion at 1AM that we should go for a long drive, at least we will be more comfortable in our car.
So we hopped in our car and took a drive for over an hour and ended up in the city of London, got some food and then it was almost time for us the head home, but no trip to London is complete without driving down the legendary Dundas St, driving down Dundas St in London, Ontario used to be a thrilling experience, The streets were alive with the sounds of punk rock music, the energy of rebellious youth, and the promise of a wild night ahead. Bands like Rancid, AFI, and The Vandals would take the stage at the local venues, filling the air with their raw, unapologetic music. I even saw System Of A Down there before they were famous. Sure Dundas St was always a little rough, but it wasn't so bad.
But now, as the wife and I navigate the once vibrant street, I am met with a scene straight out of a dystopian nightmare. The buildings that once housed lively music venues and bustling shops are now boarded up, their windows covered in graffiti and their doors chained shut. The streets are littered with debris and the air is thick with the stench of decay.
As I drive further down Dundas St, I see people huddled in doorways, their eyes glazed over and their bodies twitching uncontrollably. They look like they could be straight out of East Hastings in Vancouver or Kensington Ave in Philadelphia. The once vibrant punk rock scene has been replaced by a landscape of despair and desperation.
he once vibrant mecca for punk rock has been transformed into a chilling dystopia, a place where the music has died and the streets are filled with shadows.
I got the wife to take some photos while I drive, she was too scared to take photos of tweakers.

It was an interesting time out with the wife at the early hours of the day, then we got home and went to buy another air mattress, and now I'm chilling out at the Tim Hortons, drinking some coffee and betting on the baseball, hopefully I make enough to buy a pizza from there!!
