I love Asia.
I love Asian food. I love Asian culture. I love Asian contrasts. But Asia is not for everybody.
In most parts of Asia you will not find that comfort to which you are used at. But i never was a comfort guys. I like clean and tidy, but not too luxurious.
My type is more of a Spartan. Enough food to live. Enough sleep to function. One cup, one pair of jeans, one Superdry jumper. One camera bag with a lot of lenses. Less stuff less clutter.
This was the image i took on the very first day of my visit in Bali. Usually i am quite good getting away with a secret candid shot, bit not this time. Either it was me, a shaved head white guy in a middle of the street with a big camera and lens that gave me out. Or it was the guy waiting for somebody had nothing else to do while waiting that to guard his post.
Both of us were probably a little bit jealous of each other. Him, of my lifestyle imagining i am some rich dude that can afford himself such a big a camera, And me thinking that he grew up on such a tropical island with no winter. We were both right and both wrong at the same time.

Fantastic juxtaposition. I too yearn to live a less cluttered and simplicity based life. I used to say that I would not own more than I could not fit in my vehicle. :)
Do you feel any social pressure on your lifestyle?
Not for a long looong time! When I was married. People say all kinds of stuff about my lifestyle, but I always tell them that I want to live a life where I do not have to ask permission to do what I want. They look at me funny and then I ask them - Do you have to ask for permission to schedule your vacation? Most typical working people answer "yes". When they tell me this I just look at them and say "I don't, I just go.". :-)
Hah hah, good one :) yes, but the point is for some reason there is social pressure when you are trying to do something different than they are, even though it should not concern them at all. maybe it's jealousy i suppose.
People are afraid of braking from the conformity and authority they have been taught to obey. They will become envious when they see someone bend the norm and succeed wildly. WooHoo!
Exactly :) I say ....fuck'em :)
That expression you caught... Does make one wonder what he's thinking, making up "Maybe he thinks... or maybe...." Or he's just tired and not thinking anything at all...
I'll add a close up BW crop so you can decide, ok? :)
Hahaha - I love it!
Knowing the Asian mind, he's probably thinking you're spying on him, especially if he's done something wrong... 😆
And having spent 4 months in Bali i know there is quite a good chance he has lol
Fantastic image! A bescouted question..How do you get your bescouted post to show on steemit with an image?
Hi, Melinda, sorry for late answer but it seems you have figured it out already lol
I see the thumbnail when I am on my Chromebook, but not when I am on my mobile.
That is.... really weird... i do not even know where to start...lol Your case is the first one so far :) Which app are you using for steemit on you mobile?
@esteem
That is how all bescouted posts appear in my feed.
That is really strange. We did not adopt BeScouted to handle third party applications since we built it for steemit and might be esteem application issue how theybare handling the images. Especially since i have just tested my esteem for android and it shows up all right.

I'll forward this issue to hour dev end maybe he has something to say.
Hmmm. Maybe it is just me? I use @esteem on Android also.
This is an excellent portrait! in his eyes such fatigue! 😍😘😗😙😚🤗🤗
Thank you dear. Yes looks like desperation, indifference or lack of hope.
Don't you just love it when you get caught trying to get a candid shot. Just smile and give a wave. Works for me :)
