Be honest: there are people in your life that are hard to love. Maybe someone hurt you, betrayed you, or just rubs you the wrong way. Your natural reaction is to pull away, to protect yourself, to put up a wall.
And honestly, thats understandable. Its human.
But Jesus calls us to something diferente. He says: love your enemies. Not just tolerate them. Not just be polite. Love them.
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Matthew 5:44
He didnt just say it. He lived it. While we were still sinners, while we were still rebelling against Him, Christ died for us. He offered His love not when we deserved it, but when we least deserved it. Thats the kind of love He wants to produce in us.
And heres the thing: when you respond to hostility with love, something changes. Not always in the other person—sometimes they stay the same. But in you. Your heart softens. You start to see them the way God sees them. You stop carrying that weight of resentment.
Paul talks about the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. And love is the first one. Not because its easy, but because its the foundation of everything else. Without love, the rest doesnt really mean much.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
Galatians 5:22
Loving dificult people is not natural. Its supernatural. And thats exactly why its such a powerful testimony. When people see you loving someone who hurt you, they see something they cant explain. They see Christ in you.
So who is that person in your life today? The one youve been avoiding? The one who hurt you? Take a moment and ask God to give you His love for them. Not your love. His. Because His love never fails.

Él dice: amá a tus enemigos. No solo los toleres. No solo seas cortés. Amalos.
No tu amor. El Suyo. Porque Su amor nunca falla.
