The Bitcoin Gold blockchain went live on November 12. And there’s ways to get your coins as I’ll show you in a moment.
It’s one I’ve written about in the past. This one, when the project was announced, and this one, on what to do to prepare for the hard fork.
I will say Bitcoin Gold has been pretty good about getting out news the past couple weeks.

To bring you up to speed the Bitcoin Gold snapshot took place at block 491406.
On November 1 Bitcoin Gold implemented replay protection. That’s a good thing. It will make it safer for wallets and exchanges to incorporate BTG and it should prevent novices from losing their bitcoin.
The original plan was for Bitcoin Gold was to launch on November 1, but that was too ambitious. The first testnet went live on November 3. Five days later version two of the testnet went live. And November 12 the Bitcoin Gold blockchain went live.
Those interested can even download the Bitcoin Gold client now.
There’s also a lot more info on the website.
In terms of support both Poloniex and Bittrex intend to support BTG once they check everything out. The easiest place to buy and sell BTG now is Binance.
Likewise, the hardware wallets Ledger and Trezor will come out for tools to claim your BTG.
For now you can check out Coinomi and their piece on claiming Bitcoin Gold.
To do it right you’ll need to move all your bitcoin to another wallet first. Then you get a Coinomi wallet and add BTG. Finally you import your seed from your other wallet to get your BTG.
It’s a bit of a process but from what I’ve read it’s working for people.
Personally I’m going to wait for Ledger to provide a tool for claiming BTG.
As I write BTG is at $144… and falling.
Have you tried the BTG win client yet? I wouldn't mind selling some BTG, but I don't trust Coinomi as many people have reported issues with it, and some have even claimed that there are many security holes in they wallet.
No... waiting for a safe extraction tool.
and down it goes :P
Lol 1% dividend not so sexy ;-p
Wouldn't be more interesting to claim it now (instead of waiting for the official Trezor and Ledger tools) before it goes down even more?
shitcoin.
yep
Any updates on when it will hit Bittrex?
Not yet for bittrex but it's available on ledger now
May as well just wait in my opinion it might be prone to a speculative run like Bitcoin Cash and while I trust the replay protection I'll let others play with that for a bit myself.
Agreed
Sigh.. Ledger is so slow.. still no BTG splitting/claiming tool. At this rate i'll be able to sell when it's at $70... and considering I have a only a tiny bit of BTG, it will probably not even be worth the fees :-/
Feel the same but BTG holding at $150... we'll see how long it lasts.
But who cares when NEO is mooning ;-p
Yeah I totally agree, I'm so much into alts that my BTG amounts to about $10! But hell yeah, NEO is 50% of my portfolio and the main reason I'm so much into alts!
Now I just need OMG to follow suit just like last time !
Stratis.. I don't know.. I have kind of given up but am too stubborn to sell, lol.
gold!
Drop the coin while you can, run for the hills!

@mastaz
yea it ain't worth much
yeah cannot agree more...i bought btg 2 days ago and set a sell price and it never got to it..guess its because btc is on the moon again.. however, i trade it on hitbtc and the price seems to be on the red... hope it rises today and wonder why if btc coming back strong is reason for most coins to be in red... how do you mean claiming... do they exchange free btg for other coins...? tks for sharing @g-dubs
if you held btc at the time of the btg snapshot then you get btg. but you need to be able to get to it from your btc wallets. they either build a supporting wallet or provide an extraction tool and then you can 'claim' you new coin.
Yeah...hitbtc gave out free btg token at that time...
Do you use hitbtc?
i've used hitbtc a little bit but don't hold any btc there, or any exchange for that matter
ok...just keep me updated of any good coins...i prefer marginal trades ...but i usually encounter bots buy and sell which dosnt allow me trade in many of the coins... wonder how big exchanges allow such... well ...maybe bcos am still new in the crypto trading world...
any good coin for small funds to trade on marginally...?
thanks
I'm more of a hodler than trader
ok dear

Nice share. I've been wondering when you were going to able to claim the BTG. Looks like the price is falling. Oh well, that's what you get when you make money out of thin air.
Yep. I'm not risking my BTC for a few cents until something safe is out. Maybe I'll get lucky and catch a BTG pump ;-p
I guess now that the network is live, people are selling like crazy. If I remember correctly, someone told me a few days ago that it was at $30. That’s a steep drop.
I don't think it reached $30 yet but that's likely where it's headed.
I meant to say $300, my bad. But yeah, Bitcoin Gold isn’t look too good right now.
Just checked it's trading at $151 now.
