Mars One is a young and growing organization. Mars one start in 2011. In the first phase, Mars One will finance conceptual design studies to be performed by established aerospace companies for every major system required for the permanent settlement mission.

2013
In 2013, the Astronaut Selection Program was launched. At program's end, six teams of four individuals will have bene chosen for training. New ASPs will begin every year to replenish the training pool regularly. In addition, during this time an analogue of the Mars habitat is to be constructed on Earth for technology testing and training purposes.

2017
The first teams of candidates are expected to be selected and start training in 2017. They will train together until the launch in 2026. Every group spends several months of each training year in the analog outpost to prepare for its mission to Mars.
2020
A demonstration mission to Mars will be launched in 2020. This mission will provide proof of concepts for some of the technologies that are crucial for a human mission to Mars.A communication satellite will also be launched, which will be placed into stationary Mars orbit. This satellite will enable communications between Earth and Mars on a 24/7 basis

2022
One rover and one trailer will be sent to Mars. The rover can use the trailer to transport the landers to the outpost location. A second communications satellite will be launched into orbit around the Sun.
2024
A second rover, two living units, two life support units, and a supply unit are sent to Mars. In 2025, all units will land on Mars using a rover signal as a beacon.
2025
The six cargo units will land up on Mars. The rover will pick up all the other cargo units and deploy the thin-film solar panel of the second life support unit and the inflatable sections of the living units. The second crew will depart from Earth in 2028. The cargo for the third crew is launched with the second crew.The second crew will land on Mars in 2029 and will be welcomed by the first crew and prepared living quarters

Mars One receives donations from over 100 countries every month. At this moment, the revenue generated from donations is not enough to finance the mission but with every step Mars One takes and with every contract that is closed, more people donate and the average amount goes up.
