RE: Cant Stand Bitcoin Anymore... It Really is the Myspace of Crypto

in #bitcoin9 years ago

I'm sorry, but bitcoin will never die. I realize you're frustrated, because it doesn't satisfy your own personal needs, but it has the advantage of "first mover" status in the crypto universe and will always be 'the one'. The one coin that made all others possible. Altcoins that come after it will and/or may have their place and use-fullness, but nothing will replace it. Just like I believe bitcoin will never completely replace fiat, I believe no altcoin will ever replace bitcoin. Digital currencies have the advantage of being upgraded or changed to satisfy current needs, as Rootstock and Lightning network will show for bitcoin.
As far as it's time in existence, it's only been 7 years! You talk as though it's ancient. The dollar, in it's current form since Nixon killed the gold standard in the early 70's, has been around for 45 years! Let's have some perspective!

First off, I understand that view point but you gotta think how small the crypto market currently is. A few big money moves could put bitcoin on it's way out the door if enough money gets thrown into certain altcoins. All it takes is one altcoin to get to a price range near bitcoin and some bitcoin holders will jump ship if they see a better future in that coin. You also have to think about how many thing in our life times that we seen as "the one" and it was replaced later on. Remember CD players were "the one" ? Remember 8-track players were 'the one" remeber cable tv was "the one" only to be replaced by the internet. Sure, things like gold and silver last forever but those aren't innovations that need improved upon. You can't improve on gold or silver. it's the best as it is. I think you need to put this viewpoint into perspective as well. Bitcoin is not gold. Bitcoin was the starting point and was great while it lasted. Sure it'll last a few more years maybe even 10 years but if you think it's the best technology we've got you're sadly mistaken my friend. Thanks for commenting.
