Getting so tired of waiting up to an hour to send $1-$1,000 worth of Bitcoin. They say it take so long because it needs to do 6 confirmations to make it more secure.
Remember when myspace got all junky and facebook was like a fresh clean plate? Thats how i feel alt coins are compared to bitcoin.
Most altcoins aren't getting hacked and are sending fairly quickly (5-10 min avg.)
I really think Bitcoin is going to die and something is going to take its place.
This community is moving forward very quickly in terms of technological advancements.
There is no room for this slow old outdated technology from the 2000's.
Were more than halfway to 2017 I think we need a new standard adopted instead of bitcoin and i think the free market will dictate that.
Can't tell you how many times i've lost out on buy/sell orders because i had to wait an hour for bitcoin to get to the exchange i needed it on.
I don't even own bitcoin anymore, I only use it to get altcoins because I have to.
The biggest growing audience for crypto currency i believe is the millennial generation and if you know millenials you know we don't like to wait. We like everything instant or relatively fast.
This is why I believe bitcoins death is inevitable. I forsee The Great Bitcoin Crash in the future, whether it be next year or in 5 years.
Anyone else done hoarding BTC?
Been done for a long while @traderjeff . A very long while. Good call, Steemit and Bitshares are where it is tech wise and opportunity wise hands down.
How To Do Public Relations For Your Steemers & Startups
Some are clinging on to it and I understand. I do think it's possible it might hit new peaks one day but I think it will drop even harder once people get tired of slow send and receive times. It's like going from post office mailing to emailing. Why would I wanna wait long when I can do it near instantly? Sometimes you need to make a quick transfer to a certain wallet or exchange because you want to buy a certain coin and when the buy/sell orders are going crazy, seconds count. Your bitcoin will get to your wallet by the time it's too late.
I'm sorry, but bitcoin will never die. I realize you're frustrated, because it doesn't satisfy your own personal needs, but it has the advantage of "first mover" status in the crypto universe and will always be 'the one'. The one coin that made all others possible. Altcoins that come after it will and/or may have their place and use-fullness, but nothing will replace it. Just like I believe bitcoin will never completely replace fiat, I believe no altcoin will ever replace bitcoin. Digital currencies have the advantage of being upgraded or changed to satisfy current needs, as Rootstock and Lightning network will show for bitcoin.
As far as it's time in existence, it's only been 7 years! You talk as though it's ancient. The dollar, in it's current form since Nixon killed the gold standard in the early 70's, has been around for 45 years! Let's have some perspective!
First off, I understand that view point but you gotta think how small the crypto market currently is. A few big money moves could put bitcoin on it's way out the door if enough money gets thrown into certain altcoins. All it takes is one altcoin to get to a price range near bitcoin and some bitcoin holders will jump ship if they see a better future in that coin. You also have to think about how many thing in our life times that we seen as "the one" and it was replaced later on. Remember CD players were "the one" ? Remember 8-track players were 'the one" remeber cable tv was "the one" only to be replaced by the internet. Sure, things like gold and silver last forever but those aren't innovations that need improved upon. You can't improve on gold or silver. it's the best as it is. I think you need to put this viewpoint into perspective as well. Bitcoin is not gold. Bitcoin was the starting point and was great while it lasted. Sure it'll last a few more years maybe even 10 years but if you think it's the best technology we've got you're sadly mistaken my friend. Thanks for commenting.
