Once upon a time,
many years ago.......
when I first became obsessed with bitcoin
friends would say
my head was in the clouds.
Was my head really
"in the clouds"
or was it looking down upon them?
You decide!
All photos taken using my Blackberry Priv phone, just after dawn,

I'm back in Loutraki again!

p.s. Thanks for your hospitality Old Dog!
A great and very important topic that makes you think hard about the bitcoinand how to make your way towards the successful bitcoin.
A great and very important topic that makes you think hard about the bitcoin and how to make your way towards the successful bitcoin
It has evolved and became the goal of everyone and made me confident in the bitcoin because it is the project of the future
The pictures are very wonderful thinking of ambition and success.
Actually, bitcoin is old technology now. I suggest you have a look at bitshares
bitshares.org
LuL , Once upon a time I did not know anything about bitcoin, because I was stupid fuck and ignored it, thinking it is some kind of scam. Now my head is fully in the clouds forever :))
You can still buy bitshares ( https://bitshares.org/ ) for less than 25 cents. BUT NOT FOR MUCH LONGER!
I started buying BTS a few days ago when it was at $0.17
The pie charts at blocktivity.info are big fat clues.
That might have been a VERY good idea!
Once upon a time, i watch the 2nd episode of Black Mirror which was about Bitcoins.
My initial reaction was " Fuck all this , I don't think any of this will happen in the future. Not Real".
After one month , I'm on steemit dealing with steems dollars and Bitcoins.
#Truestory #Mylife
Wow! Beautiful pictures and the way you wrote the post was amazing! Loved it.
It kinda wrote itself. I just needed to take a snapshot of the zeitgeist.
I got that. Amazing work!
Every new thing, call it "strange" thing, raise different reactions!
You're strange! (But don't change)
Ahah so they say when I try to explain what's Steemit (to my family especially!)
You've heard what has been said about a prophet in his own land?
haah i got lost in the wonderful shots that i had to scroll back up to read it :-)
Is that anything like coming to the end of a page in a book you thought you were "reading" then, when it's time to turn the page, realizing you have no idea what you just read (because your mind had been wondering somewhere else while your eyes were still reading mechanically)? No, I didn't think so :-)
Very interesting information & Beautiful photography thanks for taking the time to share you have my vote keep it up
You and @kus-knee together??? Now THAT would be a great place to be to listen to the stimulating and delightful conversations you two must have had. All the best to you. Upvoted @ 100%
I'm not sure, but I might have spotted a fly on the wall. If it was listening, it would have a story to tell.
I think more people should read Fairy Tales.
LOL!
Stories we have to share... different paths. You did very well by Bitcoin.
It was maybe 5-6 years ago that my sister-in-law stood in our kitchen and said "You're into computers-- you know about this thing called Bitcoin? You can make money with your computer... seems like it could be a really big thing."
At the time, I didn't. But I dutifully went to Google and looked at it... seemed interesting and yet incredibly complicated with miners and hashes and ledgers and all kinds of stuff... and besides, I didn't have a couple of thousand spare $$$ lying around to buy (what seemed like) a couple of screaming gaming machines to run this stuff.
So, silly me, dismissed it in the "looks cool, requires a huge investment, might be cool and generate a few hundred dollars... not worth it." As I said, silly me.
But at least I am here now... "It's never too late to have a happy childhood."
I lost almost all of my early adoption advantage through some ramifications of the mt.gox fiasco. But I'm back.....and looking forward to some even more exiting times ahead!
These days, I'm trying to find "value" in a market that seems driven more by speculation and rumor than reality... keep looking at Bitshares and trying to figure out if there's some deeper reason it hasn't taken off; seems like it would be a good play, based on something real rather than just "it has the word blockchain in the white paper." Seems to me like a good place to park a few $$ as a long term play.
I am constantly adding to my position in bitshares. It is the Sleeping Giant, and the crypto world will tremble when it wakes :-)
Sounds right to me... think I'll start funneling part of my Steemit rewards in that direction, a bit at a time... besides, it also feels like a supportive vote for decentralized exchanges.
Every fairy must have to an happy endings and this tale has it ;)
I don't know about that. I've heard that some of Grimm's Fairy Tales were pretty grim (in the original, non-Disney, version).
The tales of Grimm (the original version) are really bloody and the happy endings doesn't exist, but in this case I'm thinking about the Disney version :D
I guess you are good at letting a smile be your umbrella too!
Damn you just reminded me when i was a two year student in my bachelor. I was planning to go to the peak of Mt Pelion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelion) with my scooter but it got super cloudy like it was about to do some heavy raining.
And then I was like fuck it, I am going. Then as I went up and up, it became foggier and foggier, to the point I could barely see like 1-2 meters in front of me. And then it happened. I was above the clouds. The sea and the city of volos that I would normally see, were replaced by a sea of clouds. The sight was magnificent and something I will always remember.
You understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did some digging, turns out I still have photos from that day. Probably shot with my old time favorite ericsson k700...
The date is so depressing, 10 years and counting :(
Awesome to see you and the Old Dawg getting on. I can see him being a wonderful host.
Thank God For The Clouds!
So glad your living up there and sharing little bits of it here with us. Stay true to the higher realms and don't give in to the crazyness of the fear mongers, slaves, and control matrix.
Blessings~*~
I've heard that the first freedom is the freedom from "like and dislike." Do you think so?
The Old Dog has certainly done many things he didn't like to do, such as get up early every morning and please ungrateful customers, to be able to host me in such a magnificent place to view the topsides of clouds others only see the bottoms of :-)
Do you mean that freedom is BEING FREE OF liking and disliking or the freedom TO like and dislike?
Yes most of us have done MANY things we didn't want to do......Most of our lives in fact are full of dislikable even despicable things....especially in childhood when we are slaves to parents, teachers, baby sitters, big brothers/sisters etc.....
I love to discuss life and consciousness......I do believe that in some way the "bad" or "dislikable" is part of life.....As contrast is ESSENTIAL to experience it self.....Yet I also feel that much of humanity is spending way to much time doing things they do not like just to try and get something that they DO like.....
I can respect that he has worked hard, and agree that he deserves a place up in the clouds (as do you) for what you have done. Yet I also believe that it is possible to live in the clouds and to enjoy the journey to the palace in the clouds.
Yes life is trial and tribulation though I do not feel it needs be in "serving ungrateful" people or compromising ideals, or pretending. I believe the REAL AND ULTIMATE trial is being REAL in the face of this world of which is always trying to conform, control and subject us to its ways.
Much respect and appreciation to you and the Old Dawg!
Hi @onceuponatime, First off - This is my very first comment on any of your posts. I landed here while going through Steemit posts randomly. You've got a very 'movie-ish' writing style. I liked it.
Regarding Bitcoin investment I want to say that all those who embrace it are open to accept future, rest are afraid of accepting the unavoidable change. Regardless of what people think of it and blockchain technology, this is inevitable and can't be stopped just like we can't stop sun from rising every day in the east. People call Bitcoin a bubble. I ask them what do they depend? Something that blasted back in 2007? What created Bitcoin? People? No way. The financial crunch of 2007 created a trust deficit so people started wanting a better alternative. This want created Bitcoin.
People still say that Bitcoin is dangerous. I ask them what is the alternate they have?
The venom that centralized money advocates are spreading against Bitcoin is actually helping it move even further.
If blockchain is not trust-worthy what else is? It's the trust deficit that created Bitcoin. Trust laid the foundation of this technology.
Here is something funny for these future-phoebic money experts:
Great post @onceuponatime. It's pleasure connecting with you.
Keep sharing and stay awesome.
Steem On!
Well, I'm not scared of inevitable change. But neither am I enamored with the first iteration of the future. I have actually written a different story line in the Fairy Tale where some newer developments become much more important than bitcoin. Bitcoin has its limitations (especially tps - transactions per second).
Agreed. Nothing is going to stay the same forever. They say change is the unchangeable law and this covers everything. Even BTC does not have 100% in coinmarketcap. Someday, something better will replace it but our romance with it will remain forever in the form of memories. I've noticed some guys like @stan supporting Bitshared since long. You're the second person who is supporting this coin. Though I've not invested in so far but I'm going to do so in 24 hours. I've an account at Bittrex, they have it but you can't buy it from there. The page shows error message. I can buy it at Blocktrades because I have account there. Would it be safe to keep it there?
I appreciate your input on it.
I suggest you download your own wallet at bitshare.org and be your own banker. But you will be responsible, just as you are when you hold bitcoin. With great freedom comes great responsibility.
https://blocktrades.us/ is an enormously competent bridge, with unparalleled customer service/support, to move your investments around between coins. I like to move into bitshares every chance I get.
Many thanks @onceuponatime. I do it first thing in the morning.
Have a good day.
Steem On!
This fairy tale is incomplet without this quote
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win and they buy bitcoin from you " LOL
PS : the photographs are Exquisite so nicely narrated too :D enjoyed this one
whats happened if btc dogged people on a top bcz btc now really uper side of the clouds and many people now obsessed with btc and invest much more money
You have to know when t hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
I don't how long time ago for lucky you.
I heard about it in 2009 and I felt lucky I didn't get in when the first crash came. Then now of course feel not so lucky. Then finding steemit is absolutely lucky. After more than a year I exchange some rewards for a shall fraction of bitcoin in October. Can't complain😎
If you ever do want to complain, I'll listen :-)
Ah... thanks. I had to complain about coinbase not accessible recently.
Found out loads of iOS users started getting their app for some reason.
Must be huge backlog now. I guess it's not all bad. Demand is good. :-)
I was taught, by a Master, how to listen to someone complain:
Just go on with whatever you were already doing, but every once in a while, randomly, say "I See what you mean" in a sympathetic voice. Intersperse that with the phrase:
"Yup, I know how you feel"
Soon you will have a life long admirer at no added expense :-)
Haha... I see this reminds me of a TV programme call mind your language where one guy show how you can carry on a conversation just by taking the last 2 words of what the other guy said and turn it into a question.
I guess, if you are a politician or a lobbyist, that would be called: "tricks of the trade."
Agree. I'm sure they all know that survival skill
Wow! The pictures are stunning! A cup of hot coffee, a blanket around you and the cold air making your cheeks hurt but you're not leaving the balcony until you watch the sun rise...aaaah! I've just set a scene in my mind!
Must be nice having a scenic mind!
It helps a lot to get away from things that annoy you... as long as you don't do it while driving :P
Loutraki's weather looks a lot better than Switzerland! ;D
Well, to be fair, that part of Switzerland has its warm days even in the winter. Just probably not as many as Loutraki, which seems to be about as far south as Sicily in Italy :-)
Tricked my eyes for a second there. Thought I was looking at a lake covered in snow.
Better send your eyes back to boot camp. We can't have them failing under fire!
What a place Loutraki is.... I'm literately in love with this place. Also your blackberry phone is so amazing, picture are very clear even in snow and very hard weather.
This is very different style of writing a blog. And I like your approach. Also thanks to @kus-knee house's balcony where you captured picture. Awesome post dear @onceuponatime, please keep it up and stay blessed!
I like the pictures, wishing you all the best as you enjoy the wild rise in bitcoin price. If the rise continues at this rate, bitcoin will be closer to 100K by the end of 2018 :)
I'm not that interested in bitcoin anymore. The technology has moved on. Mining is wasteful and not sustainable in my opinion. DPOS is the technology to watch (such block chains as PeerPlays, bitshares and EOS).
very nice pictures.. I love the pictures from @kus-Knee his house... but the last one from a sunny nice weather in Loutraki looks even better... I have seen enough snow already..
@onceuponatime,
With the story it's a charming photography! Actually you showed us a new technique, how to use a single scenery in a nice way! Fantastic photo shot and hope you enjoyed your recent visit to Switzerland well!
Cheers~
Cheers!
Who says we are too old to enjoy picture stories. Yours was pretty good. Short, sweet and a happy ending, lol. And I bet you are happy to be back on a warmer climate :-).
Beautiful pictures but yeah im totally one for the warmer weather lol
Lwal, once upon a time I didn't know about steemit, then I came to knew about steem blockchain, and here I am thanking the God for one google search I made once upon a time ;)
Once upon a time is often the beginning of many a tale.
Such beautiful images @onceuponatime !!! Magical :)
xoxo
Once upon a time, I cared about what people said, thinking I should wait until I would find time in the future.
Guess what. Future is now, or it is soon the past. It will always be too late, if it does not happen.
Thanks for the insightful and intriguing post @onceuponthetime
Right now is probably almost always the second best time to start something to improve yourself or your situation. The first best is unfortunately already past. I guess that actually makes now the best time.
What can i say. I wish i knew about BTC 2-3 years ago (or even back in 2009)
But there wasn't any infrastructure at all back then, and nobody (almost) to talk to about it. So would you have done anything about it if you had known?
You know about bitshares now ( bitshares.org ), but are you doing anything about it? Probably not.
Agreed. And actualy i did have some btc a copple of years back. I had about 2.5 BTC at that time it was about 250$. And i sold them when it droped to 240$ a BTC. If i would have gotten the info about what BTC was back them i would have kept them.
I am happy there are so many people who share there knowledge now.
hahah bro my friends keep saying me like these i should show them this :)
this fairy tale deserves a resteem bro :)
Beautiful and astonishing pics and i loved the way you wrote it was more magical : )
bitcoin go rise and rise as cross the cloud and soon reached on sky when it reached 100000$. your head is not in clouds but you flying on sky with joy and excitement. appreciate you @onceuponatime taking good decision in time. amazing photographs.
Holly fk that Old Dog has an amazing house on top of the clouds, in Switzerland even .. Lucky @#$#$%# _
You was in the clouds, and honestly saying; I hope you still are, but then with some other altcoins :-) So that you could be for always on the nice and sunny Loutraki !!
I love how you told a story with this lovely photos. I'm quite new to the world of crypto. Maybe if I was older, I would have discovered Bitcoin earlier.
Regardless, I'm glad I discovered crypto and steemit.
You were surely looking down at them @onceuponatime
Awesome! they sure were under the clouds and by far most of them still are... Not for a lack of information or potential to know other wise though!
All for one and one for all! Namaste :)
Wow this fairy tale was incomplete without this amazing photos. It's so beautiful. Looks like a glance of heaven. Amazing photography skills.
outstanding snat shots u take i see many photos in steemit but these some are the best and i think if u share in steemit contents u win with these shots,,,,btc goes on 30000 in next 2 months
Actually, I'm MUCH more interested in bitshares ( https://bitshares.org/ ) than bitcoin now.
this view on the clouds is just amazing. It must be a feeling of freedom right! where you are at now looks a much more sunny place :)
loved it!
hahaha nice its ur best time and hope ur head is on moon if u having a amount of btc from that time,,,,also all photos are very wonderfull clouds look like snowy give the more beauty this place its really a dreamy place and i want to stay there for some days on tour
You are writing very interesting, my friend @onceuponatime! Thanks for the great photos and the trip from the winter to the summer!
The #Bitcoin truth - that we don’t need banks, central banks, or multinational cartels - is undeniable and infectious, once grasped.
I wish i knew bitcoin a long time ago, but im glad i knew steemit now itself... thanks for your reminding post, it triggers me that how glad i have to be to discover steemit at least now... :)
Well explained pictorial story line.
Awesome pictures
How cool - to admire such beauty, and watch the growth of its crypto currency! :)
woah. some people dont use bitcoins because they dont have knowledge about the cryptocurrency...
Some people die before they ever really lived.
Love your fairy tale. Nice moral to this one!
