I have been asked several times for my opinion on the BTC outlook for 2022. I cant deny that BTC not hitting 100k in 2021 is disappointing, but there is no reason it cant reach that and beyond in 2022 or 2023. That said, if this bull market is anything similar to 2013 and 2017, then one must consider the risk that this bull market is getting long in the tooth.
December had several selling-pressure narratives that may have lead to the terrible end of year performance, but with the new year.... January and February should be decent months to the upside.
That all said, the Federal Reserve has said they intend to start raising rates in 2022 and this could start as soon as march. If this is not just a Fed bluff and they actually do raise rates in march; it may be the final shoe to fall to lead to a crypto bear market.
Because of that looming risk, I have advised all my paper hands friend's, family, and clients who are new to crypto markets that if they are unable or unwilling to suffer through a multi year bear market, one that may not end until the next halvening around 2024, then the next time Bitcoin is in the 60k's, they should unload their position. For those who are brave and don't want to miss out on the exponential upside; I advised them to simply buckle up. Time and the market will ultimately decide who has made the most wealth building decision.
