STEEM ranks Top 20 and gains the interest of new investors
Just hours ago, I took a quick snapshot of STEEM and Steem Dollar market prices making huge jumps.

Sudden jump?
While I re-orientate myself to the sudden jump for STEEM and SBD, STEEM has achieved a market cap of US$629 million , reaching a peak at US$2.45 price and Steem Dollars made a 100% jump from US$1.60 to US$3.18.
Other coins such as Binance Coin [BNB] and VeChain [VEN] have also made huge jumps today. (Source: cryptocurrencynews.com).
I am not very good at scrutinizing the STEEM blockchain or do queries, so I am still trying to find out what happened in the last 6 hours. There have been some talks of buying in STEEM as it hits an all-time low of US$1.58 (Source: cointradejournal.com)
A high trade volume is reported on Korean Exchange, Upbit, which I have trouble doing translations. US$27 million is traded from South Korean Won (KRW) to STEEM and a high volume of US$53 million is traded from KRW to Steem Dollars.

To my understanding South Korea is a big supporter of cryptocurrencies and there is a huge presence of the Korean community on Steemit (via steemkr.com, which is the Korean interface for Steem blockchain social media platform). Market manipulation or steady growth?
Good news for Steemit to gain international users as the platform here will be used by a growing number of users. We all play our part, writing, reading, curating, commenting, upvoting, re-steeming and making friends on this new platform.
With the downfall of Facebook as the largest social media platform, blockchain-based websites such as Steemit are gaining ground (see my previous article: https://steemit.com/facebook/@tysler/facebook-is-fighting-a-losing-battle-with-its-privacy-issues)

Good to see steem and steem dollars outperforming most of the alts today specially SBD among one of the largest % gains.
I've asked you before @introvert-dime why you vote up all your own replies at basically full strength all the time, but the post itself at VERY low power (around 7% usually it seems) and here is the deal.
It is considered pretty scammy here to do that.
And you have been doing it a long time and it is time to address this poor behaviour.
Once in awhile is fine. Not all day, every day for weeks on end.
That is garbage behaviour here.
You seem to pick high profile posts, or users to do this on always and then vote your comments to the top increasing your visibility and you do this all day long, every day, all the time.
That is frowned upon here, not like you need someone to tell you this behaviour is scammy and poor.

About time people start calling out this behavior!! Help minnows out by upvoting them and distribute the wealth which in turn will help the steemit community grow in the long-term and you as well (since your value will increase) instead of scummy activities like this which does nothing in either the short or long term to help the overall platform grow.
I have pasted this on all his replies in the last 7 days hoping some people see it, so far, you are the 3rd who has commented.
I spent hours and hours and tons of votes and donations helping minnows out my first 18 mths.
The bullying and collusion on this platform drains people esp. when 20 or 30 people you helped either forget you or leave you for dead.
I couldn't agree more. That's one of the biggest problems I've seen over the past 4 months of being on the steemit platform. Instead of it being a platform which fosters wealth distribution to people for producing great content, the wealth seems to be being distributed to the select few who already have loads of SP and up vote their own content rather than helping others and fostering long-term growth of the overall platform. Seems counter productive to me personally.

Yep, my last straw as I continued to lose support was basically August. We can see where that all got me, from a top blogger to earning nothing after everything to help.

I'm learning more and more about STEEM and its value, and this post definitely put me in the right direction to continue my research. I have been on Binance for a little while now and continue to 'fill my bags' with a handful of cryptos and it has been interesting to see how BNB has been doing. Prior to the 'crash' a few months ago BNB was close to $20 (I think). Since then it has dropped significantly but has slowly been on the rise. As the token directly related to the exchange, I feel that BNB will certain gain volume and value as the year progresses. -Respect

I think crypto market is making a correction here and will come down further.
Criptocurrency is a realistic for future.These times some bad and speculatif news can destroy price but future is day and day coming.

Verry good article. So mutch truth behing it. But talking about Steem price i think is a bit different. We saw that when all cryptos goes up Steem almost every time goes down. And then one day like a silent killer, from no where comes hit a big jump. I think is really hard to predict Steem price, because it depends on community, whales, good content and other stuff. But i know that Steem is a really safe COIN, because the steemit platform resolves a huge problem. Content creators earns money from them content ant that's really good. That's my personal opinion.

just like February & march 2018 this month also first 2 week will be growth in prices then again following cryptocurrency prices will start dropping

That sort of spike leaves me rather skeptical, although it's not a knock against the currency. Somebody's pulling some funny stuff at Upbit.
Upbit, for your reference, is either number 1 or number 2 in terms of trade volume amongst Korean exchanges, wrestling with Bithumb for the top spot. Upbit is backed by Dunamoo, which is affiliated with KakaoCorp, the company behind the popular Korean messenger app KakaoTalk.
Just some information as it seems you were curious about the Korean market. :)

Steemit is the ay of the future and is really undervalued! Im just glad im on here now - it will rise in the next few years and be one of the biggest cryptos!
