BitShares: A bad fall

in #bitshares8 years ago

Just yesterday I bought some bts for $400 and as I write this my $400 turned to $330..

Ah this just was not my lucky day.. I hope it bounces back soon..

And it's such a sad luck I have.. everytime price of crypto falls, I seem to lack money to buy at low price 💔

Sort:

yep, the bts price is down pretty bad today. But it will go up to a dollar soon, so stay in there.

It's true that the open.steem gateway is down. And I read somewhere it's because of the constant wallet changes on the steemit side so it might take a while before it's up again.

But if you don't want to use blocktrades, you can deposit through the rudex gateway without fees. But it's only available on wallet.bitshares.org not on openledger.

tell me more about rudex and how it works.. I will Google for it also but I want you to personally tell me more..

Rudex works just like openledger.
You deposit your token, in this case steem, and then you get their version of it.

So instead of open.steem you get rudex.steem. It's fully tradeable just like any asset on bitshares.

The big difference though is that the rudex.steem market is much smaller than the open.steem market.
I checked right now and the 24hour volume against bitUSD is 109rudex.steem vs 1163open.steem. So it's much easier to sell and buy open.steem which is a bit funny because you can't deposit and withdraw it.

Here's a screenshot of the gateways you can use on wallet.bitshares.org:

But as we talked about before, I normally use blocktrades because then you're sure to make an actual trade.

I haven't used rudex's own platform for login, but I'm sure it works just like cryptobridge or openledger.

Oh your explanation is so easy to understand.. thanks for saving all my time from googling. I have a small question.. can we transfer between rudex.steem & actual steem? I'm also curious about the fees they charge for the shifting.

yes, you just withdraw instead of deposit from the same window on bitshares. According to rudex it's without fees because they earn money as a bitshares witness.
But I haven't tried withdrawing myself.

why don't you try doing an experiment first and then make a full detail post about how their service works.. I'm sure you will get lots of attention from those who can't currently continue to trade steem because of issues with openledger..

Cool, I could easily do that.

Right now I just don't have any steem, because I'm hanging on with the edge of my nails to avoid a margin call on bitshares.
But as soon as bts goes up again, I can buy a steem and make a little tutorial.
It seems like something a lot of people are wondering about lately.

you can deposit

I presume this doesn't mean you can trade. Thanks for the tip!

Peace.

You can trade it just like any other asset. The thing is that the liquidity is not so big. But that's kind of a chicken/egg situation.

If we all started using rudex for deposits then the market would quickly outgrow the open.steem market.

And thanks a lot for the tip by the way, I really appreciate it.

Hi @funcrypto! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @spiritualmatters!

Have you seen glintpay? Why on earth ppl trust such thing?!! It's like bitgold... i can't even tolerate the idea

it's the first time I hear about glintpay.. is it good?

I don't buy the idea... gdg has same idea, it doubled in last month, but i don't buy a crypto that i fundamentally don't agree with it

then why would you even bother mentioning about something you don't trust.. negative marketing can often turn out as good marketing so I prefer just to ignore something which I don't trust..

I asked an expert (your opinion)

I'm a total newbie.. its better not to ask for my opinion..

really?! I don't believe, I read some posts in your blog before... please take a look at mine on SBD: https://steemit.com/steemit/@honarparvar/steem-drops-by-7-what-s-the-problem

welcome to the club :) i think it happens to everyone at some point :)

a club with members who are depressed because their money got evaporated while they were sleeping.. now I will do those African dance which the Zulu tribes do to make the sky rain...

And it's such a sad luck I have

No disrespect; but, sounds more like lack of research.

I currently have a post discussing this very topic.

everytime price of crypto falls, I seem to lack money to buy at low price

;+)...At least you're on exchanges and can trade. As a noob, the only exchange that I can use is OpenLedger; and, it's been down for weeeeeeeks. It's just as well. It gives me more time to learn.

Peace.

lack of research you say? Yesterday things were great before I went to sleep.. when I woke up.. kaboom... you don't except me to research while I'm asleep & busy dreaming enjoying my time with hot babes 🤤

I'm asleep & busy dreaming enjoying

lol...I know...nothing like eyes wide open at 3 a.m. haunted by a recent buy.

[email protected] have been watching BTS for MONTHS. I still can't understand what your draw was to make such a huge purchase at this time.

Perhaps, you have insight you'd like to share with a fellow Steemian. ;+) It's one of the most volatile stocks I've ever bought.

Peace.

BTS has inside thing? Thought it was decentralized.. my reason was I thought the price is low compared to it's ATH.. but I couldn't predict price will even go lower.. then I would have waited to buy... but oh well I can still get some profit if price crosses 30 cents.. but till then I guess my money is stuck

still get some profit if price crosses 30 cents...

I've seen it get as high as .44; but, it's been a while.

Best regards.

Peace.

I don't think open ledger is down. I used them a couple weeks ago for like 14k in eth. Not sure what u are talking about.

Are you talking about a specific gateway?? maybe there are issues with it. good luck

I'm curious about open.steem gateway.. blocktrades is like a butcher charges so much high fees

open.steem gateway

I'll help your curiousity! Please read the post below...lol..argh!

Btw, I like blocktrades because it has always been very reliable; and, the customer service/response is great. I'd rather pay a little more (it's not that much when you align it against reliability factors).

The only reason I'm not using them is because I'm having trouble getting my Coinbase account up and running. Btw, Coinbase has pretty good customer service (within 3-day response).

Peace.

blocktrades is fast and reliable.. but as I said their fees are big.. I exchanged some Steem for bit.USD and the fees they charged was 20 cents for each Steem.. so I want some other services which are good and reliable and has good reviews from users and charges low fees..

I want some other services which are good and reliable and has good reviews from users and charges low fees..

Oh, okay...you mean heaven? lol

Peace.

I don't think open ledger is down.

If you're trading in STEEM, you have been sitting on the sidelines for weeeeeeks! Only certain trades are available. STEEM and SBD are not among them.

Having Open Ledger as the only exchange 'receiving' new members, cost me hundreds of dollars when the air began to release from that December bubble.

I'm hopeful that it will eventually get up and running full 'STEEM' ahead; but, until then I project this will be a factor why the STEEM rating isn't higher (i.e. lack of reliable exchanges).

Peace.

if not for the high fees I would say trading between Steem and bit.USD using blocktrades could be great but the high fees make it not to good

Hopefully, over time the fee issues on most exchanges will be resolved.

Peace.
