Rudex works just like openledger.
You deposit your token, in this case steem, and then you get their version of it.

So instead of open.steem you get rudex.steem. It's fully tradeable just like any asset on bitshares.

The big difference though is that the rudex.steem market is much smaller than the open.steem market.
I checked right now and the 24hour volume against bitUSD is 109rudex.steem vs 1163open.steem. So it's much easier to sell and buy open.steem which is a bit funny because you can't deposit and withdraw it.

Here's a screenshot of the gateways you can use on wallet.bitshares.org:

But as we talked about before, I normally use blocktrades because then you're sure to make an actual trade.

I haven't used rudex's own platform for login, but I'm sure it works just like cryptobridge or openledger.

Oh your explanation is so easy to understand.. thanks for saving all my time from googling. I have a small question.. can we transfer between rudex.steem & actual steem? I'm also curious about the fees they charge for the shifting.

yes, you just withdraw instead of deposit from the same window on bitshares. According to rudex it's without fees because they earn money as a bitshares witness.
But I haven't tried withdrawing myself.

why don't you try doing an experiment first and then make a full detail post about how their service works.. I'm sure you will get lots of attention from those who can't currently continue to trade steem because of issues with openledger..

Cool, I could easily do that.

Right now I just don't have any steem, because I'm hanging on with the edge of my nails to avoid a margin call on bitshares.
But as soon as bts goes up again, I can buy a steem and make a little tutorial.
It seems like something a lot of people are wondering about lately.

alright I send you a Steem.. you can use that.. reply me back with your post's link.. I will upvote and resteem your post. Detailed screenshot will make it more amazing.

Great, thanks!
I just made the tutorial and sent you back the steem.
