What does being recognised as an Authority in your Niche mean to you

As the steemit community grows it becomes increasingly important for every Steemian to brand him/herself

Having Authority means influence and this can only come if you have proven yourself to be knowledeable in your field

A lot of Steemians want to see their blog grow and also increase their level of influence in the community, but for that to happen you must first lead from your niche

When you become a thought leader in your Niche, you grow your reputation and with time you will make a name for yourself in the Steemit community

But how do you achieve that

Let get the basics first

What is Authority And Why Does It Matter On Steemit

Having auhtority makes you a leader, and a leader is someone people want to follow, they have the qualitites that constantly motivares others and make them act positively

Being a leader in the eyes of the people that follow you will improve your reputation and make you a leader in the Steemit community

You should note that anyone can lead, no matter their level in the community, In his book 360 degree leadership, John Maxwell explained the three level of leadership, which includes:

Leading Upwards : this is where you lead people above you, no man is an island and every one's voice matters

Leading Across : this is where you lead people who are on the same level with you, everyone is still capable of bringing something to the table

Leading Downwards: this is the most popular form of leadership, where you mentor people who are still new to the community and point them towards the right path in both communal matters and the reason why they listen to you

Four Qualities That Breed Authority

Passion

Blogging on Steemit is hard and it is only with passion that anyone will be able to endure

I won't deny the fact that i get frustrated sometimes if things don't work out as I expected, but when you are passionate, you won't let a few bumps make you quit

Passionate people do not dread their work, they genuiney like what they do and are ready to put in the work to see it succeed

Confidence

It is not news that as a leader that you need to develop confidence, having great confidence in your abilities will go a long way in boosting your self esteem and that will make you persevere no matter what comes your way

You blog may not be the best in your niche, but if you are confident about your abilities, then putting in the work would not be a problem

Confidence in yourself will surely reflect in your blog, you would not be scared to try out new things, like changinf your medium of communication, you nay decide text is not your thing and may decide to start vlogging.

Trying out new things is very important and you can easily retract them if they don't work out as planned, but if they do then you may just stick to it

Focusing on other bigger blogs in your niche won't help, you just have to realize that you are unique and that you have something to bring to the table, or you can even bring the table itself.😎

Attentiveness

To me this is ranked side by side with passion, you have to pay attention to your audience and know what they are lacking

When you do it well, they will feel that you are reading their minds, you have to pay attention to their pressing needs and find out how to solve it and always be nice

We are in what I call the gratitude economy, when you respond to people they will reccomend you to others, people think that Steemit is a large place, that is false we are in a global village and information travels faster than you think

Provide content that will solve your readers needs and they will appreciate you for it

Leaders create new paths, but they don't do it blindly, they listen and pay close attention

Creativity

This is like the melting pot of the three attributes listed above, for you to be creative it is important for you to have a passion for what you do, confidence that it will work out and a clear plan which is fueled by feedback from your audience

Leaders are creative and they constantly think of how to create things that will change the world, there leave no room for stagnancy

Take the time to be creative in what ever you do, if you do this consistenty then you will become an authority in your niche

You don't have to be the most succesful blogger in your Niche to be a leader, you can start leader from which ever level you currently are

Start small and be consistent and you will be able to excel wherever you find yourself

Which of these qualities do you think you need to work on?, or what are the next steps do you think you need to take to excel here on Steemit ?, bare your mind in the comments below

Without a doubt you nailed it on its head. The seemingly most important one is passion which in the idea of Napoleon Hill he called desire.

Sheer passion or desire will take you as far as possible no matter the facing barrier.

Also on the part on not looking at other bigger blog, i wouldnt say it is entirely advisable. The thing about the bigger blogs is that it creates an avenue for mentorship, which aids to directing you on what you are doing well and what you are not.

Thanks bro for this work, i always look forward to reading your works. well done!

Hello @gunneresq

I am glad that you found the post interesting.

What i meant by not looking at other blog is that, you should not feel that your niche is crowded.

You should know that you are unique and have something to offer.

Thanks for reading and the feedback. I appreciate.

@ogochukwu

Thanks for posting nice and applicable principles. Well done bro

I have always found passion to make up for lacking of a lot of things in life.

When people can see and tell you have it they are often willing to help you help yourself. Little things that are not perfect get overlooked. People who also share in the same want to be around you.

It’s also contagious. It’s like a smile that spreads. People often can’t help but be inspired or moved in a way from it.

That's very true @enjar

Passion may be overlooked by some but it is very necessary.

@ogochukwu

These are really the four quality someone need to have to become a real leader in your niche my friend! I'm not saying i'm a leader in my niche, but i do have some of these traits and i will surely work harder to achieve the success i'm planning ahead!
Great read again!

Hello @progressivechef

You don't have to be at the top to be a leader, you can lead from where you are.

Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.

@ogochukwu

"You don't have to be at the top to be a leader" Well, said.

I'm glad you didn't miss passion. For me it's passion or nothing. I've said it in another post so I won't repeat for fear of sounding like a broken record:) I do like your posts. Well done ✌️

This is a great article. It's one that I can come back to and reference. It feels like a lot of select good points I've read in books over the past couple years. I've recently discovered the podcast smart passive income.com. If you don't know about it yet, I think you'd really enjoy it as well, lots of great interviews about growing your own business, including info that you address in this post. I'm going on an around the world trip and I'm toying with the idea of never stopping, so I'm looking for ways to fund the life that I desire to lead. I'm going to go back and read more of your posts now. Part of me would like to write informative and inspiring articles like this, but I get bored, it feels like work, and I switch to making things up to amuse myself and hopefully others. But I think that's what works for me.

Hello @travelman

Thanks for dropping by to read my posts.

I have know of pat's smart passive income for two years now, i discovered it while trying to set up a blog. His blog contains tons of valuable information.

When it comes to your content, your few posts i have read are good and interesting, you just have to work on formatting it to make it easily readable.

@ogochukwu

Thanks. That's good info. Ill act on that.

Hello @ogochukwu
Thank you for writing this out. I've been thinking about this for a while. To be an authority, one needs PACC.

passion, attentiveness, confidence and creativity.

That's beautiful know. I guess its time to wear my creativity hat, boost my confidence.

Thank you for your mentorship programme @bluewaves. I have learnt a lot so far.

@learnandteach01

Very nice article just like every other time. You have a way of simplifying things and he principles you just shared show very obviously in your writing. Consistency is key in the every thing we do in life we probably won't have had the light bulb if not for it.

Thanks for the good read

Passion is key! I also have come to understand the need for confidence in anything we do. There are cases where one starts well and out of fear of not doing it right, he/she ends up not doing it right. Thanks for sharing this great article sir. Stay blessed.

This is a great and wonderful post, I feel I have all of these things down and ready to go in the sense of what one is doing on Steemit...

I am more behind on the technical side of things, writing blogs, haha(still can't figure out how to get emoji's to work!) and learning about cryptocurrency in general. But finding posts like this is amazing I know my up vote doesn't help with your pay out, but I think it is awesome that people can still come across posts that are months old...

This was very well put! I can appreciate everything that was said and now have a clearer understanding of what areas I can work on to really dig into my niche. My favorite part was about tuning into what my audience wants and when I can do that they will feel like I am reading their minds...good food for thought. Thank you for sharing, this is so helpful!!
