Blockchain comparison through phones

in #blockchain7 years ago

Someone on the Ethereum subreddit had posted this comparing Bitcoin to Ethereum through phones and I found it pretty spot on.

Of course I had to make my own edit considering the difference between our own Blockchain and the others!

Fitting post considering today is the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone. I wonder what the total market cap for cryptocurrencies will be in ten years 10 trillion??🤔

Thanks for the reminder; you probably should post about it.
I remember 10 years ago; I was starting the process of a divorce, and the iphone had just appeared; and nobody knew what to think of it yet; it was SO NEW!

Did you end up sharing your Iphone 50/50 after the divorce?:p

At least, I'd say. :D

PS. Didn't know about the anniversary. :D

I wonder how much the invisible iPhone will end up costing!

I like to call it "transparent" instead. ;)

Well, that is certainly more accurate. But, I do like the idea of an invisible one that would allow me to claim "I actually have an Android phone, I just lost it".

Use an app on your phone to find it!

... oh wait

What are you using @acidyo ?!
iphone or smartphone because it's like you have more steem and steem power so I guess you're using An iphone 7+
Hehe ;)

As the steem is more advanced, I believe it would be a contact lens.

Lol this is a great comparison. People don't realize how much faster Etherium is than Bitcoin. Good to see an illustration to spell it out. I also love the "extra" addition of Steemit. It describes it perfectly!

Ethereum is unfortunately only a few times faster than Bitcoin in transactions per second. Steem is A LOT faster.

Check @steempower's post about it.

Thanks for the link! I'll check it out.

Nothing beats instant confirmation.

not quite true, lets see when ethereum is as big as bitcoin. With all the ICOs ETH has a problem with their transactions... they call it backlog

Man, I remember how color coins really saved my ass in highschool :P

Also, the steemit phone reminds me of that little glass phone they used in Looper, haha.

Haha, yeah that was my point about it being futuristic. ^^

Yeah, I'm tired...Hahaha. I feel like my brain is fried, and I should go to bed, but I'm too focused on trying to be on here...Damn it, lol.

How are you doing today, man? You doing alright, bud?

Yeah doing a lot better, finally slept for more than 4 hours at a time last night. Thanks for asking!

Yep, Steem is like the most addictive drug out there currently.. :D

Good! I'm glad to hear that, bro! I've noticed I've had issues getting decent sleep lately as well. Been having a lot of bizarre nightmares for some reason all of a sudden.

Dude, you're not wrong. I feel like I'm literally becoming obsessed with being on here, lol. Think about it constantly. Part of it is because I'm trying to use it to make a living, the other part is just that I love posting and interacting with people. Never been like this with reddit or facebook, so it's kind of weird. At least my girlfriend is supportive of my addiction, hahaha.

Yeah man - the change in interaction here between users is amazing. I've never witnessed a more supportive and caring community before.

Tell her to create a Steemit account as well then you can both share the addiciton!

Hope you start to feel better soon too! Nightmares are really annoying, I've learned to become lucid when I noticed its a nightmare to escape them. (doesn't work 100% of the time, though)

Honestly, I can agree with you on that. I was fairly involved in a decent number of subreddits for years, and never saw anywhere near the care and support that people give on here. It's wonderful hearing such encouragement to succeed and enjoy myself from total strangers!

That would be the downfall of us, lol. We'd be like cave dwellers, never leaving our room, getting blacked out curtains, and constantly on our PC/Phones...Doesn't sound that bad, actually :p

Thanks, man! I don't usually have nightmares which is why I'm so weirded out. Actually, I only usually only dream maybe once a month...So, having several nightmares for a few days in a row is really strange for me. Plus, these are very, very lucid nightmares too which I don't know why. Hopefully it cuts out soon, nothing I can really do besides that, haha.

If I could teach myself to lucid dream to get out of it, that would be fucking great. But, it seems like it's really difficult to learn how to do that. How'd you do it?

I am an Android user, so yeah if Ethereum is iPhone I am not too impressed :)

such a cool ananlogy! and steemit as transparent iphone is perfect addition to it

This is fantastic! That means Steem has potential as well as being evolved! So we are on the right track.

Haha you nailed it again. But transparent? Really? 😂
Upvoted. :)

Can be a lot more transparent than other blockchains! :)

Hmm. 😃😃

hahaha Wicked cool!

Transparency is indeed one of the best Steemit features.
It makes for a fair play, and makes trusting easier.

Cool stuff bro!

Bitcoin should be Pascal's Calculator. Without it, how could those succeeding shits be developed and materialized.

I need to know what Cryptocurrency this famous cellphone would be then:

Hahaha, dogecoin? ;D

Maybe we'll have a neural implant. I'm interested in seeing how EOS will turn out.

Haha, quantum phone!

Accidentally call yourself from another reality.

Hello? Is this C-137 @vegeta?
Nope, this is C-188, STOP MISDIALING REALITIES!

lmao... it would lead to some interesting conversations.

So... what's your powerlevel in that reality?
What? I'm a lawyer.

So under 9000... I see. Well it was nice talking to you alternate Vegeta.

I'd have to set up a quantum robocall system to tell alternate ME,s to get on Steemit sooner :-)

@acidyo, Shouldn't the transparent future be steem instead of steemit?. steemit is the blockchain while steemit is the token value right? Then if bitcoins in the token value is it's blockchain, The blockchain?. Learning still..

Yeah of course. Steem is the blockchain Steemit is the website we are on right now. :)

Bitcoin doesn't really have many other usecases than just transferring value and holding it safe.

@acidyo, ahaa! That explains it. Cool. 👍

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 -- that makes my gear only Ethereum level tech according to your chart :-/ I gotta earn more Steem and upgrade to that fancy clear goodness.

I wonder where EOS could be placed into that graphic ;)!

Let us hope, that we as humans also manage to "grow"(develop in a positive way) in a similar way the technology does:

haha thanks for this shower acidyo!

Could you help on preventing this fake introduction post from receiving a ton? https://steemit.com/introduction/@marinalosca/i-was-happy-join-to-steemit-2017630t192047610z

Do you think Steemit will fork onto EOS? or link with it?

This is a great comparison!

Ethereum has a huge potential!!! This illustration shows very well, does much more things than bitcoin. For me bitcoin serves only as a reserve of value, due to its scarcity.

I think Steem is a bit different. I think the analogy would look much better if it were compared to "Fakebook" :)

Congratulations!

I love your addition! Steemit really is a game changer! I often think to myself why hasn't everyone joined! Social media has been taken to a whole new level!

Steem works like a chram. iphone with transparency . you got it right

I DARE YOU FOR A PARTICLE OF HAPPINESS,
I share with you the trembling of the soul!
Let them bypass the bad weather,
Let the dreams come true!

I love your edit and steemit gonna rock the world and it is already rockung in beta phase.

Yes, Steemit must necessarily be in comparison kriptovalyut, and then without it an incomplete picture :)

Good information, and very useful for me. Success always for you

Good idea

The thing about steemit that makes me bullish about it is it's transactional speed. Many other coins simply cannot offer such speedy transactions and that's a huge advantage. While everything else is a real pain to deal with, Steem is instantaneous.

On top of this, the social network element is clearly quite important and many people have tried to do a social network where users will get monetary rewards. But nothing in the past has been as well implemented as Steemit because none of the previous attempts were based on a blockchain and a new cryptocurrency.

Thank you for your post @acidyo. Thank you for being one of the biggest contributors to my rewards. I am still trying to figure out what your image is implying, but I hues it means full functionality and "transparency".

A wonderful topic beautiful greetings to you please support on my page

I have been watching yours posts and comments @acidyo. I would like to work with them on this project I am offering them an invitation of free ongoing access.

You have been invited to STEEM (SBD) Trading Bot Growth Hack Project, https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@jordanlindsey/i-think-i-ve-built-something-incredible

Upvoted. Could you please advise what will be the best coins to invest? I believe you have some good command on crypto

A lot of truth here but still...Bitcoin has its advantages as a safe means of storing value (sort of digital gold) whilst Ethereum does different things and is and will be better at other applications. Of course Steem is better still for other things like micro-transactions and for content creators as well as people that want to piggy back on the success of Steemit. Litecoin shouldn't be left aside either, or at least that is what I believe. Litecoin has a lot of potential and feels a bit underrated still despite the huge volumes of it trading currently. With a potential Lightning implementation on the horizon, could it pave the way for anonymous transactions or smart contracts on LTC? Need to do more research on this...

So true hahaha, I came by just to say thank you because thanks to your vote on my mew drawing post i got a bunch of money i didn't thought i would get here, so i just wanted to thank you a lot <3

Haha @acidyo I agree wit you. These cryptos wont know it untill something big : Steem knock them off their ground and take over. Innovation and design thinking is the key to constantly improve on our steem. I am bullish on steem and think that from next year, most attention will be centered on steem and steemit. Thanks for sharing

Great post, is trying to say that ethereum will higher in value than others,?.

True, direct contactlenses when SteemIt matures. It has such a big leverage compared to other cryptos.

Very good analysis using phones.
Innovation is key

lol very cool analogy, BTC is the basic arithmetic calculator. And yea STEEMIT is in its own territory on the blockchain. The TI-83 changed the game for me in higher level math courses though lol.

SteemIt is on a whole 'nother level. Apples and oranges :)

Ethereum is app store :) I really thought there was a halt in technological leap after cell phones. I think blockchain is the next tech leap. I will write a piece correalating blockchain and cell phones.

I agree with the first comparison but not with the second one: Ethereum offers a base layer for many different applications, so basically you can build anything on top of it.
Steemit is focusing on social media ecosystem.

Yes it is spot on 👍Bitcoin being the robust one I guess

Nice post @acidyo follback and upvote ya

why calculator cost 8 times more than iphone then? check- mate!

Really good idea. Though, not many would understand the analogy.

Hahaha now I can understand how blockchain works! Thanks!

Are Steemit is a Virtual Blockchain ??

I like You're Post @acidyo

Haha but whatever happens we all end up using a calculator in the end :)). Even though everything has it's own functions..
