To a large degree, societies have always had their consensus process corrupted which has perhaps led to society's tendency to believe big lies that end up having terrible results. If reaching consensus can be achieved with integrity over many years, I imagine the overall effect will be that the bar will be raised significantly and it will be less likely that consensus around highly damaging beliefs will occur. Much better and more truth for everyone.
