“The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What’s that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you’re too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work.
You work forty years until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating …and you finish off as an orgasm.” ― George Carlin
Although it’s hard to argue against the witty genius of the great comedian George Carlin, the truth, sometimes the most unfair thing about life is the way it starts. That fact of the matter is that regardless from where you were born, chances are that will be given a social contract that you haven’t chosen though you are still obliged to fulfill.
A contract that nobody has signed, and nobody has ever seen in history of mankind.
That ‘contract’ has one single purpose, which is that every single human is born free, but that there’s no way in hell that you’ll leave this planet with more liberties than the ones you came into the world with.
Now, your quality of life may depend greatly on which society and which geographical area that you were born into, or on which area you will later decide to move to. Some people are born into the geographical ‘lottery’ and some get the worst part of a raw deal.
So if you were born in the middle of nowhere, say in some small forgotten town in Montana for example. Population : 3 people. Just you, your cousin Johnny, your grandma and a couple dozens of sheep.
You’ve still won the geographical lottery nonetheless, you may think that you’ve been born in some God forsaken place but you would be wrong. You see, if your parents would’ve had sex 17 miles to the north, then it would be a whole different story. If you don’t believe me just pick a Dollar bill and you’ll see: God Bless America.
Cause you know, God doesn’t do Saskatchewan.
The Song remains the same
Along the ages, that social contract was mostly “formed” by some extremely fascinating sci-fi stories that defy every single law of the universe. And within the contract no matter the country nor the century, you will always find a hidden clause disguised within the message. A hidden (or not so hidden) stipulation which core message is no other than this one: Divide and conquer, divide and conquer… Under any excuse known to man.

Man Vs Woman, black Vs white, rich Vs poor, gay Vs straight, born inside Vs born outside.. Sometimes they switch between the oppressor and the oppressed to spice it up, but the song remains the same.
Even today, every country still has its own story of course, but they also have their own army of bureaucrats to enforce those stories. Some countries have a social contract that seems to have some sort of logic behind it (on the surface at least) and others have a total freak show. Some even took Bob Marley’s master piece and turned into: “No, no woman no drive.”
The only difference here is the level of escalation of their respective show-runners – and by ‘show’ I mean asylum.
Now, the dark ages maybe be gone and buried but there are still places where light is just a memory and the darkness rules.
And today I want to bring you a story about how the Blockchain shone a bright light onto one of the darkest and most forgotten places in the world, how it made flowers grow in the middle of the graveyard, so that people could smile again.
Children of a Lesser God
Rwanda, the Congo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan… These are a few examples of countries that you don't want your kids to born into. Let’s take the last one, Afghanistan, if you're born a woman there then you’re screwed. Actually, even if you’re born a man there you would be screwed. You get the short end of the stick, the absolute anti-thesis of the geographical lottery.
Wait, let's rewind a little bit, why do we even have a geographical lottery in the first place?
“Aren’t we all one human race, on a giant rock hurdling through outer-space?” ― Roger Ver
So if you were born there, on a lucky day you’ll have to dodge the soldiers, hide from the Taliban, without stepping on a soviet mine, just to get through the goddamn day.
You pray to the sky cause you’re lonely and scared, but only the devil responds cause God isn’t there. A drone flies on the sky to crash your sister’s wedding, and takes out half your family. Your kids start praying for cloudy days so that the drones wouldn’t fly up.
And if at the end of the day you get to survive all of that, man, woman, or child, you shouldn’t have to deal with oppression on top of that. Sadly enough, they do.
And then you realize that the government is never going to help, unless of course you believe that they use those drones to shoot food at hungry people.
It's only people help people, from peer to peer.

Change Will Come to Those Who Have no Fear
With Blockchain technologies taking on the world, it was only a matter of time until certain humanitarian companies arrived to Afghanistan, companies like the digital citizen fund, WAF or Code to Inspire and now the women who have embraced the blockchain are enjoying more social and financial freedoms that they ever thought possible. Their earned income falls between $250 and $400 monthly, paid in crypto-currencies. While The country’s average income is US$680, annually!
So now their children can finally stand a fucking chance at this beautiful game called life. Thanks to the Blockchain.
How many times we’ve heard the following: I’ve more money made in steemit in one week that I did blogging for three years?
Just as steemit is revolutionizing the industry, other Blockchain technologies are revolutionizing their own sectors, in this case I decided to acknowledge those who are focused on relieving the pain in famine-plagued and war-torn countries. All of them trying to change the world in their own way by creating a paradigm shift, and if you ask me, they're succeeding.
In a place where women are almost barred from receiving an education, working outside the home or even dressing as they see fit... If the Blockchain is able to save even the most oppressed of Afghan women and substantially improve their quality of life... Then have no doubt that the Blockchain can and will change the world. Hell, it already is.

Behold of a Game Changer
They say that the best way to effect change is not by fighting the existing reality, but by creating a new model that makes the existing system obsolete.
It’s like that part from Plato’s Allegory of the Cave where the boy realizes that he could just step out of the cave and into the world, and then he just wished that his fellow cavemen would realize that they too can step out from the darkness, if only they knew that their shackles were in fact imaginary.
That’s the true beauty of the paradigm shift, it provides you with better and more sophisticated ways to go about everything. It renders those social contracts irrelevant, no fight, no resistance... The Blockchain removes the need of permission from the resistant guardians of the status quo.
All you need to do is to opt out and realize that there is a whole new beautiful world out there. And then you too can fulfill your dreams, no permission needed. Just remember:
Yes, blockchains are the paradigm shift and game changer! From decentralized currencies to smart contracts and dao's, society and many industries will be greatly disrupted! And a platform like Steemit will redefine what value and the attainment of human attention will be like.
It's hard to believe that we are still in the beginning stages :)
right, though that makes it extra exciting!
Of course, witnessing the change! That's a hell of a showdown :)
It's kind of poetry tho)
Haha I'm glad you noticed :)
Excellent. It's incredibly exciting to watch this all unfold, and so quickly.
I know! It's amazing!
Game Changer! Empowering and rewarding people to communicate, share, develop relationships without the immediate bias of race/sex/religion/nationality/etc. is a powerful force to tear down misconceptions, preconceptions, social bias, and blind hate. Such a community can play a role in the next evolution of the human society.
Yeah it's absolutely fantastic! Some people think than in less than 100 years, people will organize themselves by interest, and shared values, instead of nationalities and religions... It's exciting really.
I hope it will be in our life-time. That is something I would really like to see!
Yeah me too! And it looks like it's going to be in our lifetimes :)
Thank you! That's a great article! I love it!
Thank you!
Great post. This is why i joined the blockchain and crypto movement. It has the potential to become a force that can implement a wealth of help across the planet. It is so exciting to see what will be in the future. I think we are privileged to be in a time to be witnesses of this epic power storm of the blockchain.
I know! This is a hell of a time to be alive! :) It's gonna be epic :)
Yes, Blockchain now is the internet last
They call it the internet of things :)
It's only a matter of time before blockchain will be known to all and when it happens they will surely appreciate its advantage. I dont have enough knowledge with blockchain but I do believe it's greatness.
Yeah, the mass-adoption period will be somewhere in the near future i believe :)
"Change will come to those who have no fear !!!!" I really enjoyed reading this ! 87 votes shows how many more agree . Keep on going !
Thank you! :)
I can't wait to see how Steem changes the world in the years to come. Great post!
Me too! thank you!
The future is bright for those who believe in it. Crypto has changed my life and I know it is destined to change millions more!
It will for sure! But let them say it's just a phase :)
