It took me very long to understand and the first time I did I already joined over 1 year here.
I had help via chat of the @partiko app @anouk.nox guided me step by step.
I didn't know how to change steem dollar into steem so the only thing I did sofar was changing it into litecoin, the litecoin transferring into my wallet, next change it into euro and the euro to my bank account (before it was PayPal but that option was gone).
To be honest I find it a struggle and agree no one takes the time to explain how or what.
All those posts the same blah blah, same with steem-engine but no one takes the time to explain step by step what to do next.
Btw I did not come much further as looking at steem-engine and with help of @felt.buzz I managed to unstake the mess I made and did wrong trying and so I could finish my wakeup kitty.pal account.

Use the internal market for that exchange, @wakeupkitty. Much better cost and fast. "Market" is in the dropdowns of your steem and sbd amounts.
Thanks! So far not much to change. Just read it is better to do so if steem dollar its value is less as Steem.
