A Hard Fall to a Lesson in Gratitude, Patience, and Love

Gratitude should go hand-in-hand with everything in life. Health and wellness are essential, especially when trying to live optimally, and being grateful for those blessings is necessary. Life throws curveballs left and right at everyone so it's best to deal with them as best as possible. Who knows, sometimes they may be considered tests we have to try to pass. However, many of us get busy and forget or take for granted all the little things in life.

I have to take a moment and remind myself of all the good blessings I have in my life. Ranging from the large blessings to small. Recently, I had an accident and I can say it is not something easy to deal with, physically, mentally, or emotionally. I surely did my fair share of crying at first, but even though it could be easier to remain miserable, continue to have an anxiety of the unknown, dwell on the pain and uneasy situation, it is far better to choose to make something more of the cards you are dealt. All things in life come and go, as those tests or situations will pass. Those life inconveniences are never planned, easy, or fun, but they can truly teach you some vital lessons if you're willing to learn and take the experiences from a different perspective. An example could be gaining more patience, or to remember how grateful you should be for your health and wellbeing. When you lose the opportunity to function at your optimal best and need to rely on others for help, it can be a good reminder to not take anything for granted.

I have been blessed with friends and family who all care and have and continue to be there for me. I have been blessed with proper care and extra love and support. From all those prayers, kind words, and thoughts to those who have physically picked me up off the ground and transported me to attain the help needed. To those who have messaged me, came to see me, checked up on me, and hugged me, thank you. My sincere gratitude and love to you all. At this time I cannot offer much more than my thanks and love, but hopefully, when I am back on my feet again, literally, I will be able to do more for you all. Those who exhibit such love are those who are upholding the two greatest Commandments given, to love God and each other.

What am I gaining from this experience? More patience, of course, because I am unable to do the easy and normal tasks by myself at this time. I need to remember to be patient with others as well as they attempt to help me the best they can. Waiting for hours to receive help in a waiting room also requires a lot of patience, especially without a smartphone nowadays. Another thing I am gaining is remembering to receive help and love from those who care about me. Sometimes I have a difficult time accepting help from anyone, and what a humbling experience this can be. I think it is something that will continue to allow me to open my heart more to giving and receiving true love. The last thing this experience continues to give is love. Seeing the love from others can truly melt away hard and trying times. It makes a person stronger to have those who love you behind you.

There are probably many other lessons I will continue to learn from this experience as I recover and heal. As I have reflected a bit in this post, my gratitude has been expressed and I hope it is something that others can gain a bit of wisdom from. Try to take the hard times as experiences to learn and grow from, especially looking for ways to see the situation in a different light. Be grateful, it could always be worse! Especially be grateful for your blessings. I'm not saying I always have taken things for granted, but we all have been guilty of being too busy to remember to thank God and the Lord for everything each day. They have provided us with life, and blessings so big and small we may overlook some of them. At the end of the day, all we can do is try, and that is exactly what I'm doing...I'm trying to be more like Christ and be more grateful. Remember to love God and each other. I pray you all are continually blessed. Be well.

On a side note, I learned some new snazzy techniques in the digital world. What do you all think of my new logo? My other alias is "Teal Flower", and now I have a logo for my Twitter and YouTube. Perhaps it will also be integrated into my Steemit!
