I was thinking alot about this lately and since I was introduced to steemit one thought is just not leaving my mind. How to distinguish yourself from making a good content and need for more money?
Those two go with one another well, but on the other hand one can diminish the other immensely.
In order to make a good and interesting post that will make many people positively react here on steemit, or anywhere else, one needs to be interesting first of all and you should put your creativity on the first place, money and rewards will come after naturally.
This goes out to minnows like myself. Don't allow low response at the beginning of steemit adventure to put you down. That's is a normal life process that is observable throughout the universe. Everything seems insignificant at the beginning, the smallest seed is about to produce the biggest and the most beautiful flower, or a tree, of even an entire forest. It takes a lot of effort to make a plant with only one seed.
I don't know if you ever tried to grow a plant from a seed, but this is a good comparison. If you water your seed with too much water it will die, if you water your seed with enough water but with a strong stream, you will break the small branch ant the plant will die. If you don't water you seed well, you know what will happen. Water is socializing, seed is your content. You need to be very careful with socializing, meaning people do recognize when someone is honest, and please don't act like a bot. You are just watering your seed too much, it will die eventually and you will be wasting your energy that could be used to write something creative.

Now what happens when your plant grows and produces the most beautiful flower. You enjoy in the presence of the flower, it relaxes you, it reminds you that you made that from a seed with care and love. You just feel proud. Everyone else will be amazed with that flower and you will feel even better now that you managed to make someone else feel happy.
Well that flower is a reward. But that reward first came from the inside, also called intrinsic motivation. People that admire to you flower are outer motivation. Either way, you need to take care of you plant and you know it is not easy when you don't put your priorities straight.
Intrinsic motivation over extrinsic. Creativity over recycling. Honesty over artificiality.
