I recently decided to convert my spare laptop into a mining rig. It's not the worst - i3 with 4GB ram, but ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, the performance has been terrible.
Yesterday, I downloaded the xmr-stak and got started mining Monero with it. There was some setup involved and it included accessing RAM that was being unused for some reason.
Anyway, my computer is absolutely flying now, back to how it was with Windows 10, even after turning on the Display settings. Awesome!
You can see how I set the font display to minimal previously and that didn't do much to help the speed. No need for that now and it's all back to normal!
