Whats up everyone!!

Today i am going to go through my recording/production set up!
Hope You Enjoy!!

First Lets jump right into software!

Reaper!
reaper2.jpg

I have found reaper to be such a great, simple and upfront program!
It works fantastic no matter how much i throw at it and am very impressed with the versatility of it considering its pretty much free.
I use it on my PC since it is much faster then my Mac.

Logic Pro 9

However whenever i am mixing/mastering if i hit a snag on reaper or its just not doing what i want ill just transfer it all to Logic pro 9!
Now this program is just a gem with so many options with whatever you would like to do.
It can look intimidating at times but i find the interface to be very straight forward and easy to use once your used to it.
Soon as i upgrade my mac this will be my primary recording program!

FL Studio 12
fl studio 12.jpg

I have been messing around with FL Studio since it was called Fruity Loops lol Fruity Loops 3 to be exact which was first released in 2001 and its come a hell of a long way since then.
A lot of people don't take the program very seriously and underestimate the weight it can pull but its so versatile!
I use this mainly for hip hop/rap beats and all electronic music.

Bias Amp!

For the longest time i was disappointed by digital distortion tones!
They were always too grainy and buzzsaw sounding. (I have a boss hm-2 and its all the buzzsaw anyone could ever need lol)
Then i gave Bias Amp a try and i was extremely pleased with the detail of tone shaping and how easy it is after a couple sessions with it.
Soon as i can ill be swapping to Bias Amp 2 which has quite a few new features that look quite beneficial!

Bias FX

After trying Bias Amp it was pretty hard not to jump right into Bias FX.
It has pretty much the same interface as Bias Amp but with all the effects you could ever need!
From Blues to Technical Death Metal and everything in between, these two VST's can get any sound you want!
I happily give both of them a solid 10 and recommend it to every musician i know!

Hardware!

Since so much is digital now days not much hardware is actually needed!

Steinberg UR22 mkII

Now this little unit is really great!
Just over 200$ CAD and worth every penny, it came with cubase le i believe but i never installed it as i already have multiple DAW's.
Supports two inputs with the second having the HI-Z option which is for connecting to high impedance instruments such as a guitar or bass.
For one person recording guitar with the direct in you can still mic a cab if you see fit.
48V phantom power option as well which is always nice if you want to run a condenser mic.
Also since its shell is completely made of metal it could withstand a beating if it had to.

Headphones!

Shure SRH440

Really decent bang for your buck headphones made by a great experienced company.
Clear and level sound but i always notice they are lacking on the bass end, so i bounce between these and my monsters that are shown next.

Monster Inspirations!

Best headphones ive ever owned!
Mine are approximately 5 Years old and never let me down.
Such quality sound and comfort all wrapped in one, they work great for all genres of music whether your mixing/mastering, recording or even just listening.

If you made it this far through then i greatly thank you for taking the time to check out my gear!
Keep an eye out for up coming original songs, play through's, covers and other shenanigans i get up to!

Nice post! I only use reason but I hope to expand to recording guitars and vocals not using my phone haha. Thanks for the rundown on some of these programs. And those headphones look dope. I got some thrift store ones haha.

Thanks man! I havent got to dabble much in reason because im already swamped with programs haha When the time comes that you plan on upgrading if you got any questions throw me a message ill help all i can! Headphones are headphones man haha i wouldnt have these ones if i didnt get a stupid good deal on them hahaha

Those sure headphones were my go to dj headphones. They withstood the abuse and I needed the mids and highs to be clearer than the bass or I'd be deaf today!

You've a nice assortment of software & gear! I have a lot but it's packed away and never got proficient in most of it. Logic is a power House!

yeah they can take a beating forsure!! i usually find the happy medium between the two when im mastering and such works pretty well. logic does kick ass i just need more ram for my mac and to clean sweep it again haha
