We ventured to a small town shop that sold flowers, outdoor decor and a variety of other things. It caused the flower bug to bite me hard. I decided to buy a few flower plants instead of starting with seeds this year. It's nearly too late in the season to begin with seeds anyhow.
We ended up buying a handful of flowers, organic tomatoes/bell peppers, and two planters.
Hubby had a wonderful birthday and we ended up eating out several times this past weekend.
I think I ended up with a bit of food poisoning because my stomach felt like someone poured acid down my throat for most of this week. Thankfully, that has gone away now and it wasn't worse than that. I didn't miss any work over it, I just felt extra tired and terrible for that few days.
I felt much better yesterday and was able to get outside and get all my pretty new plants planted. It felt good to be outdoors and in the sun, especially on a not so hot evening.
If you remember, my planters were in terrible need of weeding so that was the 1st thing on my list to get done. Once they were weeded, I put the new flowers in them and I can't wait to see them grow more!
I've only got two kinds of flowers so far, Dahlinova Dahlia and Moss Roses. I may end up with some new ones though, to plant directly into the ground. We could use some in both the front and back yard.
I did add some seeds to my Moss Roses pots so they will fill in more later this summer.

Hubby got started on getting the pool going last evening as well. If it doesn't rain today, he will be adding the chemicals tonight. We don't have to wait for the deck to be finished after all. :)
And last but not least, I spotted this little frog on our deck. We've been hearing him at night but had yet to see him. He blended in so well, I nearly missed seeing him! He was not afraid either because I got the camera pretty close to him and he never moved.

It is a hard bug to shake. How can people ever just walk past wonderful plants and not want a few. Nice to see you have some amazing yard projects going on. Have an amazing Friday and weekend!

My plans are to be very lazy this weekend if it does not rain I’ll be enjoying our pool!
It will probably take Hubby a week to get that poor ready to get in. lol
Lots of adjusting of the chemicals to start with but once that is done, its not too bad to maintain for the summer.

Thanks! I went out barefoot. Hubby mentioned that I should put shoes on but I told him I needed to connect with mother earth. I actually prefer to be barefoot. :D
Glad that your hubby had a great Birthday, but poohpooh on the food poisoning. That is awful. Kind of puts a damper on wanting to go out and celebrate in the future. Any idea how or where you got it? Love the plants. I can't resist flowers or plants either. A place kind of sad without plants...
Thanks, I suspect it was the 1st place we ate breakfast. It's hard to say though because it can take 24-72 hours to make you sick.

That's a pretty big frog you got there. Must be very relaxing hearing it croak at night. I'm been looking for some chilli plants at the nursery but they don't seem to have come in yet? Maybe to early?
The flowers look lovely and you should have a nice display when the planters take off.
I do like hearing the frog at night. :D I'm not sure when chili plants are in season. Stuff here is getting hard to find because most people have already planted.
I'll keep checking. I usually buy chilli plants that are fruiting. Saves time :)

Thanks, it wasn't fun but I've had a worse case of it so I appreciated that it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
I seen the Dahlias and knew I had to have them. I think I got 4 different colors of them.

The house stuff doesn't seem to ever end, that is for sure.
The burning was from the acid reflux it gave me, I assume.
I can well imagine how the 'Flower Bug' can bite after a long cold winter @debralee having plants grow well and bloom beautifully in your garden is so rewarding. Sorry to hear about your tummy bug and hope you are well over it now. Great blog!

I bought some plants and pots for them. I really hate spending the money on them but I do enjoy them. All that stuff seems to be so expensive now!

It looks like a flower and plant haven in there. That sure is hard to resist not getting any plants as they're all beautiful specially while flowering. 😀

The pool is finally ready to get into but its raining today. lol It's been overly hot here the past few days too.

Up until it started raining here today, its been humid and miserably hot this week again. I'll still take it over winter though. :D The next few days are suppose to be nice.
