I love steam trains and would be quite thrilled to ride on one across the Cotswolds!
What I should have said was that the £28.00 ticket was an All Day Rover. So you could get on and off as much as you liked. Some of the stations along the line had exhibitions, and one even had its own narrow gauge railway, so if you're a real railway buff, you could actually make a day of it, which would make the cost more worthwhile, I suppose.
I would have wanted to get off and see it all!
I don't mind a steam train for a taste of a bygone age. We get some pass through here now and then. I bet they cost a fortune to run despite willing volunteers.
You have to wonder if they had bad experiences with dogs to need all those rules. Some owners can be pretty irresponsible and spoil it for others. There are rules about dogs at parkrun as I think people were running with waist harnesses and there's a risk of tripping people up. Dogs are still allowed, but on a short lead.
TBF, it's the Cotswolds. There's a lot of mud around. Funnily enough, the wife thought the seats were super comfortable, which was interesting given the carriage was at least sixty to seventy years old.
BTW Have you looked at @worldmappin to geotag your posts? It's interested to see who has been to various places.
😎🤙 will be a pleasure to see you using the map @dickturpin. Thanks @steevc for spreading the word.
