I don't mind a steam train for a taste of a bygone age. We get some pass through here now and then. I bet they cost a fortune to run despite willing volunteers.
You have to wonder if they had bad experiences with dogs to need all those rules. Some owners can be pretty irresponsible and spoil it for others. There are rules about dogs at parkrun as I think people were running with waist harnesses and there's a risk of tripping people up. Dogs are still allowed, but on a short lead.
TBF, it's the Cotswolds. There's a lot of mud around. Funnily enough, the wife thought the seats were super comfortable, which was interesting given the carriage was at least sixty to seventy years old.
