It's funny what Estonians consider a calm new year's eve. In my previous blog post I wrote how it was a rather calm new year's eve with old friends if not to take into account the moment when my friend almost blew his hand off with a firework and shrapnel flew into his brother's forehead. Now I remembered that the same friend who almost blew his hand off, got into a fight with this big guy - like two times bigger than him and he was pushed against my other friend's car. I ran between them and started talking to the big guy, trying to calm him down - everyone else were probably eagerly waiting for me to wing chun kung-fu his ass and I did...but intellectually. I talked him out of it and you know what made him calm down? You know what saved the day? Turns out he was a huge fan of mine. He hugged me, grabbed my hand and told me he is a great, great fan of mine and loves everything I do. The big angry beast suddenly turned into a little kid who loves watching YouTube videos. I thanked him, told him my friend always does this (which he does) - he crosses people's comfort zone and likes to cause trouble and then we got into the car and drove off.
My Estonian fame saved the day. If my fame here has that much power - why the fuck do I still have trouble paying the rent?
Happy new year everyone. How did you spend your new year's eve? Write it in the comments, I will be happy to read it.
