Been a few days since my last blog and just wanted to chime in on a few things.
I was expecting this week to be rather busy in real life. There some stuff I expected could have an unexpected amount of time required and thus I was hoping this week would have had a few pre-written contents that I could just dish out every couple of days. It would still be a rather light week but it is what it is. This is also why last week was a bit light as well. Me getting ahead of blogs never really works out well and usually, I’m having to pull from last weeks’ time to do so.
I was planning to write up a few gaming reviews along with some other stuff. It simply did not turn out that way at all. These things happen which is why I don’t advocate people trying to be one of those “daily bloggers” because when things don’t work out it's easy to become overstressed. Not to mention the burn out a lot of people like that face.
My overall goal per week is only 3 blogs! Yes, while some might think that not even trying I don’t want stress on having to push out content for sake of pushing out content. If things take longer then normal then that’s just how it is.
With that said there were a few setbacks this week. I’m still around, I’ve left a few longer comments around Steemit like I do enjoy. I’ve been putting little more time then I have In past couple of weeks into comments that just where this week seems to be going. It’s not my normal massive 100’s of comment a week like I was doing a while back but it’s a couple quality ones here or there.
Content Changes Made

Not too long ago I’ve made some major changes to my blogging and life on a lot of my own inner workings. I left most of the communities I was in. Drop a few discord channels and yes unfollowed a few a while back. Stagnation will always be an issue and sometimes you just got hit the reset button and rein things in or cast a wider net. Different approaches are being used for my Steemit life and another area of operation elsewhere.
I choose to rein things in for Steemit and focused more on one particular type of content-- gaming. While it has always been a presence on my blog there always been a bunch of other stuff as well. While I had hoped to be more of a variety kind of blog it was just not working out. I was spending a lot of effort in places that were not very interested in the majority of my content. It was all over the place which often left people like really 1 blog out of anything I might produce ones a week or every couple of weeks.
While I have no issue with having things outside of gaming it’s my new focused for now at least. Spring and Summer are coming up. I suspect engagement numbers for most people to dwindled for a while over this slump of time from both the warmer weather and people going on vacations and enjoying the outdoors more; along with, the short-term bumps in the road cryptocurrency has been dealing with for a little while now.
Expectations Vs Reality
I had a few things planned for this week and while I won’t get into the full details. I am someone who does not always publish what I create and I have no issue with just walking away from things when I don’t see it being worthwhile.
This week due to some personal stuff going on was mostly going be gaming review. Least that what my intention was. Some insights into what I was trying work on and things not going the way I could make work for now.
Game 1
One of the games I had invested a fair amount of time into and was ready to start working on the review. Along with have some kind of monthly or bi-weekly content. The game itself was consuming an alarming amount of my time. While I have no issue with reviewing and enjoying addicting games (hey that sometimes just called having a passion!) I noticed I was struggling with how much this game was consuming my time.
More so over the hamster wheel of time management in a pvp game where you can be attacked while offline or sleeping. As a result, I was staying up later than I like to try and protect my assets or waiting around for the last couple of minutes for this or that to finish up so I could start the next cycle. With so many people in different time zones, it was not uncomment for people to want to attack me at say 4 or 5 Am my time…
While I did enjoy being in the completive environment it started to consume too much of my time and far too many seem to just be no-lifing it to such a degree I walk away from it entirely. I realized it had stopped being fun and I was just playing it just to play it. That not good for my own personal health and it’s something I won’t do a review on either.
As a result, I walk away from it and will not be going out of my way to promote it either. While I won’t name the game as that be unfair to them as it’s an issue with my own personal personality it’s something I won’t further engage with either.
Game 2
While I have never played Faster Than Light I understand how the gameplay for that type of game goes (I have it just never got around yet to play it—doh) I had found another one that people like more over it due to the player having more control over the outcome.
I put around 30 hours into the game before taking a break and felt for the amount of content and in-depth the game was that was a fair amount of time to spend before I felt qualified to do some kind of review.
The developers themselves made it very clear to “please contact us first.” Requiring certain things. Part of the issue I have seen in past games have been the music might have some copy write issues with it for people wanting to make things like videos (that usually the issue with a lot of games where they get permission to use or have music created for their game but those rights do not pass onto the people wanting to do videos on the game itself.) This could also be a red flag for other things as well of which I have no idea regarding this company. Some companies will go out of their way to fight reviews they did not sanction (legality), others want to “pay” for reviews, and some others are just happy to toss a couple of free games keys for you to give away.
Now since I’m really a nobody blogger I really am not worth people’s times in dealing with on a corporate level. Firstly, I would not accept payment to review a product. At most I would be happy to receive a product for free and I would include a disclosure if that ever happens. I mostly did it because hey they were a small company and maybe I would get 1 free copy to give away or something since even small companies are just happy to have such things happen for their game.

I sent an email a while back and while I was told by another person they take usually a couple of weeks to get back to you. Well, it’s been a couple of weeks. While I don’t have to respect the wishes of a developer when it comes to this kind of things I rather try and play ball first. It just makes things easier down the road. As such I’ve not even written a review yet. As I did not want to invest that kind of time till after whatever contacting them would lead to. I had high hopes this week but even if they get back to me today it’s not going happen this week.
The game in question would also be fun to stream. There one expectation of something and I honestly was hoping to talk to them and see if there was a way of dealing with that one element. Who knows in the future this could happen.
Game3
Games been broken and almost unplayable for a while now. Patch after the patch was going fix things. They had some interesting in-game mechanics for how small of a company they are and hence why I don’t think they will be fixing things for a very long time since they so far have failed to do so. It’s a good thing I’m not using names here because oh boy could I see a lawsuit on what I have to say about this thing. I’ll just leave it at this. No review from me on this dumpster fire of a game.It could have been great.
Game 4: Sea of Thieves

Still in the review and initial gaming phase for this one. Because it is a $59.99 game and a recent release I wanted to get my time in before stepping up my plans with it on my blog. While I this both solo play and team play I was hoping to have made more time for group play by now. Scheduling issues with others have to lead to things not working out.
On top of that, there also been some: bugs, crashing and some other issues. While I am very enthusiastic about this game myself I also understand I need to keep balance when elevating if I want to start reviewing, creating guides and doing streams of a game.
Right now I need to do a bunch of research to make sure that 1. The future cash shop they are adding in is cosmetic only (yep I’ll drop a game like a hot potato and not recommend it if it turns into a massive pile of pay 2 win. It does not look like it but I need to spend some time trying to determine if that could be a thing) 2. People are claiming “lack of content” I get it’s a $59.99 game and all that. While I understand this I think they need learn to make their own adventure and stop expecting everything to be such a theme park adventure. I and my friends have had a lot of fun and we were not even out questing to enjoy it! 3. I need more time played. While I feel I’ve played it enough I’ve also only had it a couple of days. I can talk about quite a few things but I prefer to have more time on something before doing so.
Game 5: Path of Exile

I’ve been doing a lot of reviews, guides, thoughts, and live streams of this as of late.
So why not more? Well, I need to do some things that are not very exciting or things I’ve already reviewed. I’ve gotten to a point in the game I’ve not before. I want to make a few different characters for the current league that plays different roles. That not something I'm used to having and it’s going cost a fair amount of in-game currency to get the right gear. A top of that I have some research to do on exactly how to accomplish my goals in that regards.
I’ve not been steaming just because my time right now is getting interrupted a lot which would result in me having to afk for prolong periods of time. Start, stopping, and ending a steam 5 to 10 times in one day is a bit expensive. Even more so with there being a blog created for each one as such I’ve elected not to do so.
I’ve been playing it this week, still enjoying it and expect some content to become if not this week next week on it. I know some people who stop by my blogs are always bored of my content on this but hey it’s what I’ve been enjoying doing.

I'm now following your work.
I've thought about doing some game-related content. Might be fun.
Lots of fun and it can be a nice area on steemit to get some upvotes if people really like what you are doing.
You've reminded me that I need to start posting more of my gaming stuff here. I've not decided yet rather I want to share what I already have going on YouTube or if I should make new series.
I suppose I should start new though since I'd like to live stream on dlive.
IN my spare time I've been hooked on a game called 'Oxygen Not Included'. I've killed so many colonies. lol
Dlive is great they can give out a nice upvote if they see your steam and really like it. On top of that they also do not take a cut for using their platform.
I've seen Oxygen Not Included but never played. Mostly spending my spare time these days on Sea of Thieves.
I didn't realize they don't take a cut, that is a win/win.
