Hi, guys!
Today marks five days of non-stop work on the blog, and the progress is already quite impressive. I’ve managed to shoot a fair amount of material and am moving forward rapidly, clearing off my backlog. Things are only going to get better from here; I can’t wait for the moment when I no longer owe anything to publishers and can focus solely on urgent matters. In fact, my "to-do" list for publishers is already quite short, so I’m breathing a lot easier these days.
Work on the book is progressing too, though I do get bogged down in places. Some scenes are turning out so massive that it’s unclear how I’ll eventually assemble them into separate books. But that’s fine—if some parts end up as standalone volumes, so be it. I’ll just end up writing a lot of books. We’ll see how it goes; for now, I’m just gathering everything together. I’m leaving it as is and seeing what takes shape. The trouble is, I have a "kink" for a specific type of scene, and I keep getting distracted to write those instead. But that’s okay; I’ll get back to the main plot eventually—once I figure out exactly how.
So, for now, I’m just letting myself enjoy the process within the book. I still need to refine the character arcs so the world-building makes more sense; things should get a bit easier after that. We’ll see how it turns out. Since the political system isn't fully fleshed out yet, pushing the plot forward feels risky—it’s not entirely clear what’s happening where. I need to shore up the structure so it doesn't wobble.
So, I’ll tackle that first, and then I’ll settle into my world.
