They Will Tear this World Down Like a Big Juicy Hamburger

The internet is going to change the world. Broadband has already boosted my ability to download all the libraries in the world, only to let them catch dust on my 2 TB hard drive. We have changed the world; we are connected, we have opportunities to make money in any corner of the world. We haven't improved ourselves. People are good at manipulating the environment to please them... us.. But we are terrible at changing ourselves to become better.

We have built all these gadgets and apps, and we only use them for distraction. If not just for entertainment, mostly. There is something we hate about being productive and in the end, being a producer. It is so easy to consume that our producer side atrophies on the vine. We are so aggressively forced to conform and obey since we are young with schools and parents that plan our lives, with so much lack of respect for our individuality, that we lose it. We become so empty, so void, like an iPhone warranty after you tinkered with its innards. That sense of loss, we grieve in our subconscious, the emotional pain can only be dampened with distractions. We consume, so we don't think about what was done to us. We watch hours of "funny videos" we eat more than we need, we play video games as a second job. Anything, anything just to not have a minute and think about yourself.

The endless procrastination of a dying world. A childless, mindless, consuming and self-consuming world. Unless we look at the children and treat them with respect... they will tear this world down like a big juicy hamburger.

Here is a cat video for your trouble.
