You are correct that there are those who cannot see how their actions are selfish, but are quick to see it when its done to them. I have family members like that and I don't think they are particularity terrible pepole, but when you point certain selfish actions out, they will come back at you with something along the lines of 'well you do things for yourself'. I'm not a quick thinker to be able explain the difference, but that quote puts it perfectly
I know what you're explaining and it can be frustrating. At the end of the day , we can control ourselves and our own actions. Everything we do affects others in small ways, like a ripple effect. Hopefully, we can control ourselves in a manner that will positively motivate others and future generations. Thanks for commenting.
