RE: Catherine Austin Fitts Interview – Global Financial Coup D’état & Technocratic Slavery That Follows

in #blog4 years ago

I understand the value of engagement. But I also like having easy access, here on Hive, to his material; his posts have enormous value to me, whether or not he engages beyond simply posting here.

I have cast at most three downvotes since downvoting's inception, the last of them to wipe out your upvote on a comment above, which I felt was over rewarded. But that is the first, and likely last, time I ever downvoted for that reason. I cast it in retribution. I do not feel that is fair. Many downvotes these days seem to be cast for that reason. The comment had value to you. In future, I will respect that.

Do you know how high the rewards went on this post? I'm curious.

If you just prefer the easy of access to sending you/reminding you about his website then he can decline rewards since he's not contributing his content to Hive. What he does not only takes close to no effort but also takes people outside of Hive, I'm not one to care much about the latter but I do care about effort. I'm glad to see he's active in comments and responding, that's already a big + that many others I've downvoted haven't so I will take that into consideration next time but I hope he changes his ways to at least provide some content even if he doesn't post cross-post the full article and then links to his website for "the rest".

Thank you for the considered and polite response.

I watched this episode, every minute of the two and a half hours, and I most definitely would NOT say it required close to no effort. I highly recommend it. You can skip the first ten minutes or so if you don't have 2 1/2 hours.

So if he provided copious show notes and some commentary, as he used to, you would be more accepting of his posts?

I am deeply grateful for @tlavagabond's work. The concern I have is that you, and others, might be holding him to a "higher" standard - possibly a pedantic standard, considering all the garbage accounts that earn far more than this one does for minimal effort - because of the nature of his content.

Do you think FTG was right to wipe out my rewards on all my comments? I work very hard on my posts, for a few bucks here and there. I engage deeply with others, as I am doing now. I believe I am an exemplary account holder on Hive, who earns little and can use every penny she gets. But I've been heavily downvoted because of petty differences between two other accounts. This is not the first time.

I have responded in kind to FTG's comments on this post. It's starting to feel good to harm someone's earnings. Is that the intent of downvoting?

If you want him to continue sharing links here for your convenience to not miss his content I suggest you tip him feeless transaction Hive or subscribe with recurring payments. Just because you like this doesn't mean he's owed stake from curation in the ecosystem.

You didn't answer any of my questions, I'm afraid.
I know that I have other choices to reward an account. I am curious as to why you are making the choice to downvote nearly every post this account publishes.
There are a great many accounts that post little more than a link to a video off hive. I don't see why you are regularly downvoting this account and never those others.

So you are accusing me of having a personal grudge against this account?

Feel free to let me know others who provide as little value to Hive and I'll take a look at them, other than that my opinion still stands on top of being confused what you think brings value to Hive.

I haven't accused you of anything. I am merely trying to understand why an account that has enormous value to me, and many other Hive accounts, is deemed of no value by you.

Hive isn't like other social media platforms, we're not generating adrevenue for these influencers to pay them with for their lazy cross-posts/links. Similar to other social media platforms, though, we need growth, it's the main thing that matters, everything else comes after. If people are here, just posting no-content posts, not attempting to bring any people in, they are only taking value from the network. Doesn't matter if a few stakeholders want them to continue posting links here or if they're on some whales autovotes because of who they are or what the content is about, the reward pool isn't guaranteed and if there are other accounts around that do bring value to Hive in other ways then they should get rewarded more and these accounts less. It's a give and take, similar to how you use your upvotes and get upvotes in return, people need to bring value to Hive and receive some in return, else it's just costing everyone inflation from stake that needs to be bought up or kept locked since it's going to a weak link that's not valuing their stake they are earning because the cost to generate it is close to 0.

Maybe you started to annoy him? I don't know why he downvoted your comments but considering how you're consistently continuing this charade of not accepting my reason for downvoting OP's posts and insinuating I'm doing it for ulterior motives I can't say I'm surprised he got enough of you and wanted to "hurt" you with downvotes. Not saying I agree with it and there's plenty of bad usecases of downvotes but just as many bad usecases of upvotes or autovotes and that's also pretty clear in this very post. I'm going to stop wasting my time here for now as you don't seem to want to accept my reasoning for why I think this person isn't bringing any value to Hive with these kind of posts nor is he even linking to his Hive account anywhere to bring traffic and his audience to Hive so his posts wouldn't look like an overrewarded ghosttown pre-downvotes.
