How would you feel if you lost your entire portfolio? Almost everyone is at risk of having his or her house catch on fire or of having a plumbing emergency. Last year we witnessed many natural disasters around the world that caused people to lose everything they owned. What would be the odds of your passwords written on paper surviving such events?
The odds would be very low.
Fires obviously destroy almost everything they come in contact with and large water leaks can also greatly damage things. A cheap way to secure your documents is to purchase a fire and a fire/water resistant bag. I recently purchased this bag from Amazon.
It was only 15 dollars (USD), but I feel that that it is a good deal since it is going to protect my important documents and passwords. There are more expensive and better alternatives to keeping your passwords safe such as a safe or cryptosteel, but if your portfolio is still small or if you are on a tight budget, a fire/water resistant bag may be a great option for you.
I wonder how many people have permanently lost their crypto because of emergencies or natural disasters?
