RE: Standing Behind Your Words

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

I think that we should all be ready to admit when wwe made a mistake or did something wrong (for full ironic effect I made a genuine spelling mistake!).

Lets say I insult you, perhaps Im drunk posting, who knows? You respond rightfully and give me a roasting, well shit, my new perspective on that comment I made, makes me think I should at least apologise.
Is it likley this was a drunk poster, probably not, but people learning they cant talk crap about anyone on the internet I think is a great advance, and if they want to retract that comment, well thats a bit of shit removed from our eyes, so why not? Of course the irony of steemit is we are blockchain, and their mis-deed is recorded forever.

So I say, yeah, stick to your principals, fight for your opinions. But I also say, be ready to recognise you are human, that you arent always right, and sometimes you do random stupid stuff, and in those cases, be ready to retract and apologise.

Thats MY opinion, take it or leave it, haha!

Like I said, maybe you made a miscalculation or was uneducated about something, but I still think you shouldn't try and erase the past. Drunk texts and comments are the best because some of the filter is removed and people might actually say what they have in their mind ;)
