Testing for Pre-Anesthesia for surgery
My mom has to have testing for surgery. And apparently they don't take her insurance. So I have no clue if we are even gonna be able to get it done. As she can not afford to pay for the testing out of pocket. I am so freaking angry.
I am livid
I can not believe they would set up an appointment with the Anesthesia department that doesn't even take her insurance. And how can they not take it when the rest of the hospital does. I am livid that they would do this. They know my mom needs this worked on to make us jump through hoops has me ticked off.

This is not right. You are unprofessional in how you have handled my moms case. To be real currently with this mess up I don't want you touching my mom. You just lost my trust.

Eskenaki is the only burn unit in the region meaning they have to take her insurance. If there was another burn unit around they wouldn't have to but all bets are off when they are the only one. By law they have to take it and make an exception.
i feel bad too... did you tried other hospital that will take her insurance?
They are the only burn unit in the region. Once I found that out. I started citing law and magically it is covered.
We need universal healthcare in this country. Something like Medicare for All. Every other civilized country has it. Why can't we? The alternative is "poor people just die."
I'm glad you were able to get it sorted out, but I'm sorry you had to resort to citing law and threatening them.
They have no clue what would happen had they not gotten it fixed. A longer detail post would have happened along with alerting media outlets. I would have had them on the news by the end of the day. Thankfully there was someone around who knew the law. And told the lady who told us they don't take her insurance that yes they did. When there is only specialist center in a region they are not allowed to say we don't take it. Exceptions have to be made according to law.
