Yeah, we're seeing a lot of bloated follower numbers here on Steemit already, but I guess all social networks and content publishing website has the same problem. I often see YouTubers with millions of subscribers, but barely get 500k views on their videos, so they also suffer from some of the same issues over there.
True, I see such too. Guess it's something we'd have to live with.

It would actually be pretty interesting to have the "followers" metric changed to "active followers" metric, and count the amount of people who have been active in the last 30 days or something like that!
