Hopefully I can sell off some possessions this weekend and we can be on the road by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. It should have not have had to come to this but I have no choice. As further motivation, I spoke with my mother yesterday and found out she had fell. Apparently she had to have twelve staples in her head. Parkinson's is something else and does not appear to be much fun. Perhaps it is a window into my own future and what I have to look forward to.
I may not have enough to make the whole trip even after selling everything I can. I am not looking forward to being stranded some place along this fifteen hundred mile journey. If it happens it happens there is not much at this point I can do to ensure that it does not happen at this point. I was gifted a cell phone for the journey with one months worth of airtime. I will be taking pictures or my lady will so I will be posting them after we finally arrive at our destination.
Overall I would say I am looking forward to the trip but there is one part of it that will suck. I have never enjoyed driving through Chicago. Due to fuel concerns I will not be able to find an alternate route. I am excited however to make it back where we are from. So many people I have not seen in at least five years.
Today will be a very busy day. Lots of things to do in preparation for the trip. I hope all of you are well.
Safe travelles to you both hope you can sell enough items. Hope you have enough money to make the trip. Onwards to a new and hopefully better future. Hope your mum is Ok. Please keep us updated.
Thanks. I will be posting again eventually after I arrive where I am going.
All the best to you on your journey! There is a way to avoid Chicago, however I don't know if the savings in mileage would cover the cost. There is a ferry across lake Michigan. Its starts up on the 11th. Though You could possibly be done the whole journey by then 500/mile per day.

The journey is basically a 2 day process. It will be completed before the ferry runs unless of course i run out of fuel somewhere along the path.
