A few days ago I packed all of my "must have" belongings into a bag and moved the rest to a storage space that I have been lucky enough to be able to use for free. When I woke up today I knew I had to throw out my bed, find a place to stay for the next few days and also go deliver a synthesizer I had borrowed back to its owner.
I started my day by rolling up a joint and composing a Facebook status asking friends and family in the city if they had a couch to spare for a few days.
Here is the Facebook status I wrote:
Afterwards I threw out my makeshift bed for the last year. It has been made up of old couch pillows with a thin mattress on top. It's probably not been the best stuff for my back injury to sleep on top of, but I did not have the economy to justify going out and buying myself a "real" bed this last year. After I finished up that I headed over to my friend Andy with his synthesizer.
While I was out I got several friends responding to my call for help. I managed to grab a corner on the floor at my friend @tryptameme 's place for the next few days so I can get the Ableton lecture and my liveset performed without any problems. It's not the best bed, but it will work for a few days while I get this music related stuff sorted.
Me and tryptameme decided to test out the two types of brand new 100% vegan pizza's they have started to sell at Bislett Kebab.
The "cheese" felt like real cheese. Both types had pieces of soy based meat substitute as well as several types of greens. In enjoyed both, but my favorite was the spicy type.
Even more incredible then my friend tryptameme giving me roof over my head for a few days is this story; A person I don't really know well at all offered me to borrow his apartment for 3 weeks from this Sunday for free after reading my facebook status! <3
He won't be needing it as he's going to go on work related travels. The apartment is situated at Nesodden and has both a forest right next to it, and a view of the ocean. I'm so happy there are kind people like this in the world willing to help me out!

Good luck @xtetrahedron, it's not easy being homeless but it looks like you have some people who care enough to support you which is great. I was in a similar boat once in Boston when my lease ran out and I wasn't prepared, ended up crashing with a friend and sleeping at my band's rehearsal spot amongst other things lol.

I try to look at everything that I go trough in life as experiences that I can learn and grow from as a individual. I was totally blown away by the kindness of the person offering me to use his apartment for free for 3 weeks from this Sunday, that should give me more then enough time to decide where to go and what to do next!

Good luck to you, was once in a similar situation so I know the feeling. You should really check out the rules around it, because tecnically they're not allowed to let you lose your home in Norway.
